In classic Chinese fashion no one knows anything until the very last minute. The summer school course, which Ben Hillman told me would be 6 weeks is actually 4. So I could have gone home two weeks earlier. Oh well. The reason for cutting the program short is the Diqin Autonomous Prefecture's 50th Anniversary party in September. The kids are all going back to school early to prepare. All of this I have known since before school started, so it is not a problem.
The issue at the moment is that my kids have gone back to school (there is still a week and a half f the program left) so I will be running a night class or two. I don't mind night classes, even though it will be slightly annoying to have to go get dinner by myself. What is a problem is that I don't know when, or how many night classes i will be teaching.
But Beth, you should be teaching the kids today, how can you not know?
My thoughts exactly. You see we have been trying to sort everything out for the last week, but he KIDS don't know what time they have class or what they will be doing. So I can teach a 4;30 to 6:30 class and a 6:30 to 8:30 class... BUT no one knows if they can come at 4:30. So today I get one class of 40 at 6. Yippee!
Also, one of the guys has a copy of Harry Potter 7. Should I read it, or wait until i get home? I think I'll wait. It isn't like anyone is going to spoil it for me, except by giving it a "meh" rating.
