(no subject)
Last night i played normal college student, it was obcenely fun but a little expensive, so it wont happen that much. We had the fencing year-end-bash starting at 7 last night at Beau's apartment. That was fun partially because Tom showed up drunk and eventually had to have three points of contact to prevent his falling down, partially because the fencing people are fun, and partially because it was a party.
My amazing display at club nationals in michigan got me nominated for several awards, but the officers decided that you can only win one... which is fair. So I got Newbie of the Year award.
We watched Tom get more drunk, which was amusing. Yes the fencing people are responcible and no one would allow him to drive. Strangly, Tom is a steriotypical drunk. If you talked to him he would wobble back and forth, he touched more, and he had to lean on the wall. He also had some problems with hand eye coordination and motor skills. It was highly amusing... But i wouldn't have wanted to be the only one making sure he didn't get himself killed, and after a while i'm sure it would have grated on my nerves.
Aside from watching tom get drunk we ate, drank, and made merry. We talked joked and we watched "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", part of "Spiderman" and most of this movie that i have never heard of named "Willow". Willow was a very odd movie that drew a line between midgets and little people... All of the guys loved it. It was fun in that "oh my, this is a bad movie" way.
Eventually Beau kicked us out, because he had to wake up at 5 am to go ref a tournament in houston. So i drove several tipsy people, and tom to the Cinemark so that we could watch Hitchicker's Guide to the Galaxy at the after midnight showing. The nice thing about movies after midnight is that they count as matinee because they are the next day before 6pm. Yay! When we were walking from my car to the theater my purse got passed around from guy to guy. I couldn't carry it because it fell down my crutches, so i held it out and Tom took it. Apparently drunk people take stuff without thinking, becasue Tom had a major problem with the idea of carrying a purse. So he tried to pass it off to Bobby, Taylor, and Guido.
I thought that the movie was cute, but nowhere nearly as good as the book. The cut out some of the best conversations and you didn't get all of the benifit from the guide telling you about things. Oh don't get me wrong, the guide did tell you about certain things, but not all of them, and parts of teh explination were cut out. It made me sad.
There was a song at the beginning that was entertaining, "So long and thanks for all the fish."
Now i have to read the rest of the Hitchiker series.
After hitchiker's guide Bobby got a ride with his girlfriend, and Tom got a ride with some friends that he found. So I drove Cat home. But I wanted chocolate. So we drove around looking for someplace that serves something with chocolate and was open at 3 am. Sadly we didn't fine anything so we went to HEB and bought ice cream.
Then I came back to my dorm ate my ice cream and fell asleep at around 5 am.
It was fun.
