Graduation, Project Grad, and Summer... FINALLY
Today is the thursday after graduation. I have been thinking of writing something in my journal about graduation since... last thursday, but some how i never got around to it. I even wrote a sweet letter to my friends about how great they are and how much they made my time in school much better than i thought it was. About how they made me who I am. And about how we will never be the same person we are today, so we should remember graduation and cherish it.
But then Annie ruined it. Stupid Annie.
Plus it wasn't really that eloquent, so it didn't seem right. Oh well.
SO Friday Mom and Laura and I went shopping. We got this awsome little dress for me and laura got her hair cut short and i got my digital camera for graduation. YAY!
Saturday I woke up "early" and did not get to go riding. I got dresses in my pretty dress and mommy made me wear make up, which was okay... I guess. But she wouldn't let me ut my hair the day before because it would make me "different" for graduation... But i had to wear make up even though i NEVER wear make up durring school. Oh well.
We left and ended up getting to UH too early so we went to eat at McDonalds. I don't really like McDonalds at all so i was just going to have orange juice, but Mom got me and apple pie. It was okay, but not great. Then i got dropped off at the Alumni center and i looked around for all of my people. Oh BTW, i got sick on thursday night and had to beg mmmy to let me go to school on friday so that i could be exempt and be able to walk at graduation. How nice. Then i went to school with a 101.4 degree fever and i was throwing up... But i still went. I apologize to anyone who i got sick in my actions, but I'm a bit selfish.
So i was still sick at graduation, but i went anyway.
We lined up and got all of our stuff on. I graduated Magna, so i got a kinda ugly silver drape thingy, but it wasn't as bad as the ugly Suma drape. Hehee. I was cooler, if only because it was silver.
Then we did the actual graduation thingy which was exciting when your name was called, but quickly became boring when there were still about 500 other people to go after you. I thought that Annie (our salutatorian) gave a good speech badly, and Tulsi (our valadictorian) gave a bad speech well. Sucks to be them. I'm glad that i didn't have to give a speech because... That is a lot of pressure.
After tha we all threw our hats (I got mine back) and then went outside for pictures. I got some really good ones, and some not so good ones. It was fun. I also realized thati ahve lots of famliy.. and they weren't all there. Gene, Granddaddy, Dad, Patti, Mom, Bob, Lindsay, Laura, Suzie, David, Alex, and Michelle where all there. Wes was doing his motorcycle thing, Omi was still in Florida, and Meredith was in Italy or France or somewhere.
We also went and did my graduation party at dad's house. (Meredith was not invited because i'm still mad that she didn't pack me up in a trunk and take me with her.) Daddy made a beef tenderloin, potatoes, greenbeans, and more yummy stuff for dinner. For dessert he made chocolate mousse in a cream sauce with strawberries.
Presents were also fun. I got a laptop, a photo printer, a comptuer case, my irish roots (Thanks Meredith), my camera, a graduation charm, horse book ends, and money. YAY for graduation.
Then I went to project grad where Skipper (Aroura), Towey(Jennifer), and I messed around. I got some really good pictures. Maybe the best part was when Towey and Skipper did the fighting thing and they were so careful not to hurt eachother that it looked like they were dancing not fighting.
I got home "early" at 5 am and then i slept until mom made me get up at 4:30. She said i had to get up or i wouldn't be able to sleep at night... which is stupid becasue i couldn't sleep anyway. :-)
I went to school on monday... sorta. I got sick of it after 2nd period, so i left to go eat breakfast. I went to La Madeline and got French Toast and Strawberries Romanof. It was GOOOOD. Then i went back to school for 5th period to say good bye to Mrs Franklin. I'm really ging to miss her.
Meredith, I do agree with you when you say that Mrs. Franklin is the best teacher at Brook. She is awesome. And my name was the LAST one that she read at graduation! YAY!
Tuesday I slept late and did nothing.
Yesterday I went to school to take a stupid Reading check for Flemming. The prompt was acctually really easy. I was kinda suprised. Then Leslie and I went out to lunch. Then we wnet to see Shrek 2 and then we went to eat dinner. :-)
Shrek 2 was good... Not as good as the first, but i think that part of what made the first one so great was that it was made for little children, but they used a lot of adult humour so that parents and teens would also like it. I think Shrek 2 was differnet in that it seemed to be geared more toward the older groups than little kids. It was still FUNNY... but not so much. I did love Puss-'n-Boots. And donkey is still funny, but it was't as classic as the first Shrek. But it would be kind of hard to make another movie that was as great as Shrek, let alone better.
Today i went to Laura's 8th grade wave graduation. They didn't have any AC in the auditorium, so i went and sat outside after a little while. Congrats to Laura, now you have to deal with high school.
Then Grandaddy took me out to eat lunch at Cafe Express.
Now I think that I will go to sleep.
