I've panicked celebrated by buying an absolutely frivilous and expensive pair of cowboy boots. They're shiny and metallic and I can have fun pretending to be a cowgirl in them. You know you wanna see . . .
It's not very apparent from this pic, but the inset bits are metallic gold lizard, and the boot upper, which looks like brocade in the photo, is tooled leather.
I blame my taste on the fact that I spent my formative years in Dallas. How many pair of western boots is too many, do you suppose?
