And, the last of my gift-fic expo on Flexy. Enjoy!
Her life had not turned out anything at all like she had dreamed. Not that Tabula exactly minded... Reflector really did seem to love her, not that they had ever said as much. It was the 'little' things, like keeping her safe on the streets of Kaon, something that had almost made her angry when she first found out. Or how happy they had been when, after their final upgrade into frames that could actually combine, they found they had imprinted on her. The imprinting had been expected, but the happiness... Tabula had only hoped for that.
Even now, in the Decepticon ranks with, technically, no attachments between them... Even that had been for safety, hers and theirs. But they didn't worry about it, too much, and fed her information, just like she fed them what she discovered. Officially, she fought. Unofficially, she mostly stayed in the back, unnoticed, and was able to blackmail almost anyone if she had to. Tabula tried not to have to.
She had almost become a research assistant again, to Shockwave. She thanked Primus every day that she hadn't. She couldn't have lived if she'd taken any more part in Seeker experiments. If she hadn't trusted Reflector, the no-longer-sparklings she had never expected to have and loved so much...
"Hey, Tab'! You gonna sit here dreamin', or gonna get ready for the battle?"
The femme turned, smile on her derma. She liked Roadrage, he never pried too much... "I'm coming, 'Rage." Retrieval of the injured... She wasn't a good enough fighter to do much of anything else, though she always did wonder if that was the only reason for her assignment. Roadrage was her shield, and said he enjoyed the cushy job. He was waiting for her, and with another smile, she went to do her job.
