The F Word
So, I've developed this terrible thing for a certain chef lately...
A few years ago now, I was introduced to "Hells Kitchen" a reality show based around working in a kitchen, run by Mr. Gordon Ramsay... which lead me to find "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares", a show in which he travels to dying restaurants and turns them around within a week.
Not only is he british, but I find him terribly attractive, and the man can COOK.. omg. And I LOVE his temper.. hehehe.. I would do just about anything to have Mr. Ramsay yell at me about not being able to even cook a f'ing risotto.. *sighs happily*
Anyway.. I'm now absolutely hooked on his "The F Word" show. He has a restaurant in London (I presume) and he cooks for a sitting of 60, has two trainees working in his crew vying for a spot within his ensemble, and has a dessert challenge, has the cutest food critic Giles talking about interesting foodie facts, shows a bit of home life, and cooks things that we could even do at home.... This is the 2005 season (first one from the UK) that I'm deep into, and I'm not sure if it's the same show they're advertising on the FoodNetwork right now or not... but I'm in love.
I'm absolutely tempted to be more adventurous in the kitchen and find myself wanting to try to cook things like lamb, and beef wellington... and I've learned how to (or am quite on my way to) by watching this show. He goes over recipes in interesting ways by showing you (rather quickly) from his own kitchen (with terribly sexy voice overs).
If anyone's interested in seeing any of this, I have 3 seasons or so on my computer and should be able to rip them to dvd. I also have this 5 seasons of the UK Kitchen Nightmares, and the 2 from the US... as well as 4 seasons of Hells Kitchen. (have I mentioned I think I have a thing for this man?)
and, for your viewing delight... something I've been watching a bit too much of. The actual opening along with my shows are in much better quality, but this is a youtube vid, so the quality's only so good.
