K, I love your comments. Not only because they're perceptive and thoughtful, but because it's such a relief to see that what I'm thinking sometimes comes across to the reader. It's very gratifying.

I don't even know where to start myself, but a few quick comments:

Thank you thank you thank you for the "doing gender" comment. Yay! You know I'm in wholehearted agreement with you on this one. I started on this because busaikko's story got me thinking about when and why crossdressing works for me in a story, and it got complicated very quickly, and "doing gender" makes it like much less of an ideological mess than this story is ( ... )

I'm piggybacking on k_marauders' comment because I'm too lazy to type out my own, and this was so well put. :)

In sum: I almost skipped this because of the cross-dressing (sorry!), but I'm very glad I didn't. I love what you've done with gender and trans-ness and everything here, making it so much more than just a fic gimick. (And busaikko did a great job with the topic as well).

A really interesting and innovative story, in the best way.

Thanks, sweetie. K's comments are fabulous, aren't they?

I have huge issues with crossdressing in fanfic, too (Is that what you meant?), but I loved busaikko's original so much and wanted to do my own version from the perspective of the person being looked at and not the person looking.

So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the comment, Maggie
