A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind:
Daniel/Vala, because we would get Stargate in Australia who knows how long after the US, I was relying on fan reaction on the net as to Vala’s character, which as you can imagine was rather mixed. I think it was when I read the fan fiction coming through such as sg_wonderland’s that I got to see the potential for the pairing before I ever saw Prometheus Unbound. And it’s Claudia fucking Black, what was I thinking?
A ship you have never liked and probably never will:
Anything involving Cassie with a member of SG-1, that skeeves me right out, ick! And Helen/Tesla, because he is one messed up, dark individual, and she doesn’t need any more of that in her life, and how many times did he try to/almost kill her? Same with Helen/John, nope.
A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t:
Sheppard/Teyla, just because it’s one of the few things that has me procrastinating on starting the Legacy series. The pairing just doesn’t make sense to me.
Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what:
Have I? Again in no particular order (ok, in order of how Ao3 spits them out): A Vala-iant Sacrifice, Fixed Position, What Happens on P3X-595, Stays on P3X-595, The One Where Cassie Has Two Mommies, You Can’t Always Get What You Want, Why Can’t We Be Friends, and various pictorial frivolities which you’re all probably sick to death of.
What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
I think Stargate has probably been my longest fandom, participation-wise. I have been here for 15 years now.
Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it?
It was either Xena/Gabriel or Jadzia/Bashir, I can’t remember.
What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
Television. I love the story arcing and time it can take to create a whole universe of things to play with. Science fiction in particular has such a wide reaching scope to explore. But damn, it’s crushing when a canon ends.
Has the internet caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
There are a few fandoms in which the behaviours have put me right off wanting to actively participate. Sanctuary and Sherlock come to mind. It’s a shame because I don’t have people in those fandoms to really connect with and be inspired in turn etc. like I do with Stargate. As shitty as some fans can be, I have my ‘safe’ spaces with Stargate and a group of really wonderful people to explore it with.
Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it online:
Burn Notice. I thought it was just another cop/spy show. When I heard Michael Shanks was going to guess star, I started watching it for the backstory (My first ep was with Lucy Lawless!) and just fell in love with the characters. I think it was one of the best shows of the past 10 years.
Say something nice about someone in any of your fandoms:
Can I just squish everyone? I have so many angels. <3
Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves (chars you’re neutral on are fair game, as are chars you dislike):
Jonas, well he tried. And has provided banana related fodder for years. *g*
Say something genuinely nice about a ship that you don’t ship (or its shippers, or anything related to you):
I can totally see the potential for Jack/Sam if it were to develop beyond the friendship aspect of their relationship, which I adore. I think actually writing it myself a few months ago for the first time was pretty nice.
Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice):
POC playing characters other than Jaffa, female writers, emotional maturity, and Jack’s parents (Just imagine if Janis Paige played his mom again) that’s 4, but MEH.
Choose a song at random, which ship or character does it remind you of?
Cigarettes and Suitcases by Something for Kate makes me think of Jack and Daniel from the original movie for obvious reasons, but the lyrics speak to their journey and separations in the series.
Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas):
* Helen gives Will some of her blood and his aging slows, she’s not alone.
* Archer and Lana have ‘normal’ jobs, or they have to go undercover The Americans style.
* Jack and Daniel meet and fall in love on a Sea Shepherd mission.
* Jack dies from either the explosion or the radiation in Alliances (SGU) and Daniel reaches him before he ascends using his ancient powers. He ascends Daniel next time he gets himself into trouble. No more goodbyes.
A ship you’ve abandoned and why:
I slashed McKay/Beckett very early on, but I still couldn’t bring myself to like McKay very much.
A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships:
I miss my Jack/Thor peeps. Also Jack/Janet doesn’t get much love, even though it was originally supposed to be canon.

* No one is explicitly expressed as sexuality identified, thus there is room to explore any/all options
* The backstory RDA wrote for Jack in the Illustrated Companions because Jack had so little past apart from the immediate
* Nigel Griffin’s death was not from natural causes
* Helen’s Brisbane Sanctuary is under Mt. Cootha.
* Nikki succeeds Pete as Phoenix head of operations (totally lolmac’s idea from her best fic ever, I’ve adopted)
* Mac loves Nikki but he has no idea what to do with it.
* After her tour on The Hammond, Sam takes command of the SGC, whether it be in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado or Atlantis, San Francisco.
* Arnold is a bottom, but he is afraid, because he doesn’t want Josh to see him as any weaker than he sees himself.
* Ziva has been back in the US hiding for a while now, and keeping tabs on her old team. Gibbs knows, because he’s Gibbs.
