She really couldn’t place her own face, which wasn’t her own face, which was a kitten’s face. A lone kitten sat on the beach staring into a pool of water in the sand that had either bend created by the ocean or children or maybe amorous adults. The kitten’s fur was a smoky striped tortoise shell of a medium length and her eyes were blue. The kitten thought she looked familiar; she just couldn’t place her own face, because normally she was human.
I’m a kitten. I’m a KITTEN!
She freaked out for a moment until she remembered that she had only gone to bed just before becoming a kitten. Then stopped when she heard…
“Hey, groovy a kitten on the beach!”
Before she could turn to look a pair of hands had scooped her up and turned her around…
THE MONKEES!!! OH MY GOD, I’M BEING HELD BY MICKY!
Suddenly all four boys surrounded her cooing over her, even sensible Mike was enchanted with the kitten for a moment. He took the kitten from Micky looking her over carefully.
“Don’t get too excited, you know Mr. Babbit doesn’t allow pets. And we don’t know if she even has an owner.”
Babbit? It’s like an alternate reality based on the show. Cool… I mean groovy!
Peter chimed in, “It was raining earlier. Maybe she came from the storm.”
“Petah, that’s only a saying, kittens don’t come from clouds.”
Must be an alternate reality, the real Peter Tork wasn’t that dense.
Peter took abruptly took her from Mike petting her as he has a rather childish and indignant outburst.
“The not true, when I was little we had a kitten and her mother was called Cloud.”
The other three boys took on a look that said ‘How dumb can you be look?’ Davy palmed his face and the others shook their heads. Micky sighed briefly before recovering himself enough to start petting the kitten.
Oh, mama… Stop… Oh! Melt down!
Then Mike and Davy got in on the petting.
“I guess that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a good pet before releasing her...”
NO! NOT ALL FOUR …!
The kitten abruptly vanished, all four jumped back with a shout of surprise.
“Th-th-th-th-th…”
“Mike?” Davy and Peter clung to Mike alarmed, looking to their leader for an answer.
“W-w-well, I guess she must have gone home.”
Peter looked up at the departing storm clouds and waved shyly like they might bite.
She sat up in bed suddenly, hot all over.
“Aw… It was just a dream.”
The End…?
