rinkle who gave me "rabbit" and Ian/Nikki. Apologies for taking so long and this just grew and grew until Nikki took over with her teasing.

Nikki shifted her legs beneath her, getting more comfortable as she sat up in her bed. Her hand rearranged the burgundy sheet before lifting to sift through her wild mass of morning hair; she didn’t need a mirror to know her curls were crazy.
Once done scratching and massaging her head, she dropped the hand and gazed at the black bag down on the foot of the bed. A frown came to her lips, but she quickly did away with it as her lover reentered the room.
Ian dropped a stack of clothes in the bag, giving her a quick glance. “Didn’t mean to wake you.”
Raising an eyebrow, Nikki spoke to his retreating back as he turned towards her bathroom. “Since when have I let you leave without saying goodbye?” The sniper wasn’t as nearly as sneaky as he thought he was. It probably had more to do with the fact that her body had gotten used to having him next to her and was attuned to when he got up, than with any lack of quietness on his part. “I like my goodbyes.”
He made a noise that she didn’t try to decipher.
Instead she turned her attention back to his luggage. She hated when he had to leave, but he had a job as did she. Besides, he had come back every time so far, which was more that what most of the rumors said about his past character, so who was she to complain? Plus, the day she turned into one of those weepy females would be the day she turned her badge in and quit.
A flash of gold from a side pocket caught Nikki’s gaze. She leaned forward, sheet slipping down her back, to hook a finger in the chain. The object came easily out as her back straightened.
As she lifted it to eye line, she smiled in amusement. It was a rabbit’s foot. Dyed red in color, it was exactly the sort that used to be found in skating rinks years and years ago when she was younger. The real question though was what it was doing in Ian’s possession.
Which is exactly what came out of her mouth when he reappeared from the bathroom dressed for his flight.
Eyebrow back in arched position, Nikki teased, “What’s this?”
A twist of his lips and Ian grabbed it. “Good luck charm,” he stated while placing it back into the side pocket.
Her hand reached out to touch his bare arm, fingers walking up and down the flexing muscle as he zipped the bag up. “Good luck charm? Do you actually need one with your reputation,” she purred out, voice dropping an octave. “For getting the job done?”
Black eyes turned to look at her fully and she might as well have lost the sheet between her bare body and that gaze.
This was part of the game, Nikki trying to get him to stay just that little bit longer. Sometimes she won and sometimes she lost. Ian liked to indulge her attempts at seduction, which usually won out most times.
She was pushed back against the mattress as Ian growled, climbing up to cover her. Her lean leg rose to slide down one of his as he breathed out, “My reputation speaks for itself.”
Feigning indifference as his mouth descended on the skin of her neck, even though her body was beginning to heat up beneath him, she stated coyly, “Oh I don’t know about that. I mean if you have to keep a good luck charm around then I just don’t know.”
He growled again and her ear received a sharp bite.
“I guess you’ll just have to prove it then.” Nikki grinned in satisfaction as the clothes he’d just put on were tossed aside. She’d won again.
‘Thank you, Lucky Rabbit’s foot.’
