Epiphany

Jan 06, 2005 00:04

Today is January 6. Some give the name "Epiphany" to this day because it celebrates the Wise Men's witnessing of the newborn Christ.

However, I feel as though I must have an epiphany now...I'm not sure why...

I feel as though my mind is connecting and responding differently...

I will share with you what I have thought...

There are many who believe that everything in the universe is nothing more than a conglomerate of particles whose immortal task can be viewed in the form of atoms. What has not been proven is the contemporary concept that (in simple terms) something within these particles dictate their purpose: in other words, something tells the protons, neutrons, electrons, etc., what it's function is. This "something" has been named a string, and these strings apparently vibrate at certain key frequencies that determine the nature of their particles. Similarly, brain cells vibrate at certain frequencies that determine the nature of a living being's behavior.

What is interesting is that we can only alter the brainwaves by changing the environment, and psychologically we are at the complete mercy of the brainwave frequencies.

One has to wonder...if living beings can't directly affect brainwaves, and if atomic structures truly do obey their "strings," who is responsible for the vibrations of the mind? Who is the one who plays the strings?

Who is the Ultimate Composer?

Perhaps, the one who is behind the music of the universe is the one we have been searching for. Perhaps, our purpose is not too different from that of the particles...to have relationships with our fellows and work together to form something, as the particles relate to form an atom. However, living beings exist to cause changes. The particles exist to retain equilibrium. Both exist for the sake of providing purpose to the other. There would be no need for a force of order if there were no force of change.

And so, we must understand that we are merely meant to respond to our perceived environment and cause change, whether we change a boulder into pebbles, or food into molecules. If we are not able to appreciate the changes we make in the environment, we become frustrated and start to change the environments within ourselves and each other. This can lead to confusion when we are irresponsible about each other's minds and bodies.

But it is all the way that it must be because the living souls and the one responsible for the particles have needed each other for eternity. It is the environment that must alter our minds' song, so that we may do that which is naturally ours.

I am not sure if this is an epiphany, but it is definitely on my mind...
