The Curious Case Of Ianto Jones Ianto leaned over the conference table, looking at the plans that were spread out over the flat surface. His eyes scanned the drafts as he mentally made calculations and wrote them down in the notebook he had beside him. He'd been staring at the plans for hours, making adjustments to his calculations and jotting down what was needed. He double and triple checked. Finally satisfied with his work, he gathered all the plans into a pile and rolled them up, safely storing them inside their tube and sealing it. He picked up the notebook and pen, and took them along with the tube back to the office he shared with Jack.
Jack looked up when he entered. “All done?”
Ianto sighed. “Well, the preliminary calculations are done. Now I have to go and see if the property matches the plans.” He placed the tube of plans into the filing cabinet that lined the wall behind his desk.
“Great! Let's go!” Jack said, standing up and walking over.
“Oh no. No, you don't Jack Harkness. You are staying here and doing those reports.” Ianto put his hand on Jack's chest and pushed him back towards his desk and into his chair.
“But! Ianto!” Jack pouted. “Our home!”
“Is no where near a home yet. Besides, if you go with me, I know exactly what will be happening there and it won't be measuring up the rooms,” Ianto folded his arms over his chest.
Jack smirked. “I can think of other things to measure.”
“I bet you can,” Ianto replied, “which is the reason why I'm taking Donna instead.” He turned and walked back to his desk to pick up the notebook and his suit jacket from the coat rack before heading out of the office.
Jack's chest tightened as he jumped up and followed him. “Hang on! You can't take Donna!”
“Precisely why not?” Ianto asked over his shoulder as Jack chased him through the Hub to the cog door, alarms blazing to signify their exit to the Tourist Office where Donna was working.
“Who's going to make the coffee while you're both out?” Jack spluttered. Ianto turned around and raised an eyebrow. “I mean, you gotta admit, you've taught her well. She's like your protege.”
“No one will make coffee while we're out, Jack, because everyone is forbidden from touching the coffee machine except for Donna or myself. If you are that desperate for caffeine, send Owen or Mickey to Starbucks. I'm sure either of them would love a chance to hit on the baristas.” Ianto turned back and continued up the stairs to the Tourist office.
“But-”
Ianto turned back and pushed Jack against the wall of the stairwell. In one motion, Ianto kissed him deeply, his tongue sweeping into his lover's mouth and caressing Jack's tongue, encouraging him to play. Jack wasted no time kissing him back, his arms surrounding Ianto and pulling him against his body.
Ianto pulled back, breathless. “Jack, please. We won't be gone long, I promise. You can track the GPS in my phone, and you have the tracking on the microchip. Turn it on if it makes you feel better.”
Jack stared into Ianto's blue-grey eyes, and saw him pleading. “We're getting CCTV cameras installed at home, you know that, right?”
Ianto smiled softly. “I've already ordered them.”
Jack felt the tightness in his chest release a little. “Donna will be with you at all times?”
Ianto kissed him softly. “At all times.”
“Rift permitting, we're having sex when you get back.”
Ianto rolled his eyes. “You really know how to sweep a guy off his feet, you know that?”
“It's how I hooked you,” Jack leered.
Ianto chuckled and pulled away. Jack patted his arse as he turned and headed up the stairs once more. “Do that again and you won't get that happy ending you're after.”
“Yeah, you talk a good game, Jones, but you always give in,” Jack taunted, grinning as he continued up the stairs after his second-in-command.
“You always cheat.”
“It's not cheating if it's part of my DNA,” Jack protested as they reached the top of the stairs. He pulled Ianto back against he chest before he had a chance to go through the entrance to the Tourist Office. “I can't help it if you turn me on so much my pheromones explode every time you're near me,” he said in Ianto's ear.
Ianto turned his head to look at Jack over his shoulder. “And that's what I mean by cheating. That little...” He waved his hand in the air in lieu of saying something further.
“Little what?” Jack asked innocently as Ianto pulled out of his arms. “It's the truth!”
Ianto rolled his eyes and marched into the Tourist Office. “Donna!” Donna poked her head out of the alcove, her eyes widening when she saw both Ianto and Jack standing there.
“Ianto, I swear-”
“Jack. Another time and place.” Ianto glared at him before turning his attention back to Donna who had come out of the alcove and had folded her arms over her chest.
“Don't need a referee for a lover's quarrel, do ya?” she asked with a cheeky smile.
Ianto offered her a small smile. “Ah, no, thank you. I would, however, like you to accompany me to the property Jack and I purchased. I need to check the measurements and some other things and get the ball rolling on the renovations.”
Donna frowned. “Why me?”
Ianto smiled widely. “PA extraordinaire? If anyone is going to get that place organised in the quickest amount of time, it's the two of us.”
A smile broadened across her face. “Well. That is true. I am quite brilliant at getting things done when I want them done fast.”
“Exactly. Come along then. Time's wasting.” Ianto moved over to Jack and kissed him. “Try not to die or kill anyone while I'm gone, okay?”
“That was harsh!” Jack pouted.
“If the world falls apart, call me. I'm on my cell phone!” Ianto called out as he followed Donna out the door.
Jack crossed his arms over his chest and stood there for all of five seconds before he ran over to Donna's computer and accessed the CCTV footage on the street. He watched as they walked from the Tourist Office entrance to Ianto and Jack's new home, a mere four blocks away. As soon as he knew they arrived safely, Jack shut Donna's computer down, set his wrist strap to alert him if anything changed with Ianto, and headed back down to his office. He wanted to surprise Ianto by finishing those reports by time he got back.

Ianto unlocked the door and pushed it open. “After you,” he said, indicating Donna should enter first. She hesitated after glancing inside. He smiled. “It's perfectly safe.”
“Gawd, what the hell did you two see in this place?” Donna muttered as she entered.
Ianto flipped the switch by the doorway and the overhead lights came on, illuminating the massive empty space in front of them. “Potential,” Ianto answered as he took it all in. “This is going to be the entry way, and over there is going to be the kitchen with a dining area.” He pointed to the right. “Straight ahead will be the large open plan lounge. Off the lounge to the right will be our home base office. That will be two levels. Then over there, the master bedroom and ensuite.”
Donna nodded as she looked around. “What about over there?” She pointed to the left of where they were standing.
“Well the ground floor is going to be a library, the main bathroom and one guest bedroom. Upstairs is going to be two or three more guest bedrooms, we haven't decided yet, for when my family come down from Newport. The kids are going to love the Fireman's pole. It's going to stay.”
“I bet Jack will too.” Donna chuckled. “And where the firetrucks were stored?” Donna asked, grinning.
“It will remain a garage. This place actually has another storey already.”
Donna looked up. “Um. I... I don't see it.” Ianto looked down. Donna looked down, too. “Oh. Underground.”
“It wasn't always a firehouse. Originally it was a police station, and the cells were built underground to stop the prisoners from escaping. When the Fire Service took it over, they sealed over that storey. Jack and I managed to get our hands on the original plans. We're going to open up the lower levels and-”
“Turn it into a Batcave!” Donna lit up.
“Something like that, yes.” Ianto chuckled. “The entrance will be in the office. Well. Study, I guess.”
“So that's where the weapons and...”
“Exactly.”
Donna nodded in understanding. “So I'll be working for Batman and Robin. Right. You're not going to be wearing your costumes to work though are you? Because that's only going to make Owen's comments worse.”
Ianto laughed. “No. No costumes. I think Jack's coat is enough, don't you?”
“Mmmm.” She wandered in further and turned in a circle as she looked around. “Okay.” She nodded again. “Let's get to work.”
Ianto smiled. He pulled the notebook and pen out of his inner jacket pocket and a tape measure from his outer pocket of his jacket. He handed the notebook and pen to Donna and showed her what he measurements he'd taken from the plans and a list of the contractors he wanted her to contact when they got back to the Hub.
When they had all the measurements Ianto needed, he ushered Donna out of the building, flipped off the light and locked up behind them.
“It's going to be beautiful when it's finished,” Donna said, wrapping her arms around herself.
Ianto turned around to face her. He smiled widely. “Yes. I believe it will be.”
“Have you talked about furniture and stuff?”
Ianto chuckled as they started back towards the Hub at a stroll. “No. Not yet. I'm sure Jack will eventually try to talk me into something similar to the Hub.”
“Don't you dare let him, Ianto,” Donna demanded, slipping her arm through his. He patted her hand. “I mean it. I will kick your arse if you let him walk all over you.”
“I have no doubt of that, Donna,” Ianto grinned. “I'm sure Tosh and Martha will be in line behind you as well.”
“Too right they will!” she agreed. She looked up at him. “Did you talk to Jack again about testing your immortality?”
Ianto shook his head. “No.”
“Ianto.”
“He's not ready, Donna.” Ianto looked off down the street. “I don't know if he ever will be, to be honest.”
“And what happens when you die in the field? What then?” Donna asked quietly, squeezing his arm.
Ianto smiled down at her. “According to the Doctor I revive.”
“Just like Jack?” Donna asked.
“Just like Jack,” he nodded. “That's the theory anyway.”
Donna looked at him. “You've never karked it? In all the time since you...”
“Disappeared?” he offered.
“Yeah.”
He laughed softly. “No. I was lucky.”
“You don't like to talk about it, that time you were missing, do you?” Donna looked around, avoiding looking at Ianto.
“No. No, I don't.”
Donna gave him a sympathetic smile. “I can understand that. Must have been traumatic. Just... if you ever wanted to talk to someone, someone other than Jack... someone who won't judge, who won't tell anyone else... well. I'm here. That's all I'm saying.”
Ianto looked down at Donna. “I appreciate that, Donna. I really do.” He let out a small chuckle. “You wouldn't believe me if I told you though.”
Donna let out a laugh of her own. “Cor! After working at Torchwood for as long as I have, nothing would surprise me anymore.”
Ianto's smile faded. “I thought that too. Oh how wrong I was.” He sighed. “C'mon. Jack will be pacing in his office wondering where we are, and Owen should be in stage one of caffeine withdrawals by now. Best we get back before the Hub falls apart.”
Donna threw her head back and laughed. “What would they do without us?”
“It doesn't bear thinking about,” Ianto muttered as they picked up the pace.

When Donna and Ianto walked through the cog door Owen came out of his office that he shared with Martha, his hands on his hips.
“Where the bloody hell have you two been?” he demanded, before making his way down the stairs.
“Out,” Ianto frowned, not liking his physician's tone. “What's wrong?”
“What's wrong?” Owen asked. “There's no bloody coffee, that's what's wrong!” He looked between Ianto and Donna. “You two are the only ones allowed to touch that bloody machine and you both leave at the same time!”
Ianto smirked. “Owen, you are perfectly capable of going to a coffee shop to buy coffee. There's a Starbucks right across the street now.”
Owen crossed his arms over his chest. “It's not the same.”
Ianto raised an eyebrow. “Is that a compliment?”
Owen grunted. “Don't get used to it. Now, can we have coffee?” Ianto stared at him and Donna crossed her arms over her chest. Owen huffed. “Please?”
Ianto looked at Donna who put her hand on his arm.
“I'll do it,” she said with a small smile.
“Thank you,” Ianto watched her leave. He looked back at Owen. “Well? Don't you have work to do?”
“I'm going, I'm going. Believe me, I don't want to be down here while you're shagging the boss. He's been pacing his office for the last ten minutes. Honestly, you'd think he'd know how to pull his own cock by now.” Owen turned and ran back up the stairs.
Ianto shook his head. “How the hell you ever manage to get anyone into your bed is an absolute mystery,” he said to himself as he watched Owen before turning and heading to his own office.
Jack looked up from his desk when Ianto entered, and sat back. “You're back.” His hand was on the finished stack of reports. Ianto's eyes found them.
“Yes. You can stop pretending you didn't know now.” Ianto moved over to the coat rack and hung up his jacket. Turning, he headed to the manhole and disappeared down the ladder. Nothing turned him on more than Jack finishing his paperwork without Ianto having to nag him about it.
Jack stared after Ianto for a moment, then jumped up and climbed down the ladder after him. When he reached the bottom of the ladder though, he leaned against it and watched as Ianto methodically disrobed and discarded his clothing into the dirty clothing hamper before heading into the bathroom.
“Coming Jack?” he called out.
Jack scrambled to get out of his clothes, leaving them in a heap on the bed before he entered the bathroom. Ianto was stepping into the shower, steam already rising from the warm water. Jack watched as he stood under the spray, the droplets sliding down the white skin of his lover, washing away the layer of grey dust and flattening his brown hair.
“You going to stand there and watch me all afternoon?” Ianto asked, his eyes closed.
“Thinking about it,” Jack replied cheekily. Ianto turned around and opened his eyes. Jack's own raked over his lover's body, the water sliding down his flat stomach, droplets falling off the ripples of muscles, his nipples already pebbling, his cock full and proud. Jack stepped into the shower. “Changed my mind.” He wrapped his arms around Ianto, pulling him against his body, their erections trapped between them, causing them both to hiss at the contact. “So beautiful. All mine.”
“Always.” Ianto lifted his head to kiss Jack, his tongue merely touching Jack's lip for Jack to open his mouth eagerly and tangle his tongue with Ianto's. Ianto pressed himself closer, his arms around Jack's shoulders and waist. Jack moved them to press Ianto back against the wall. He gasped into Jack's mouth when the cold tiles hit his back.
“Sorry,” Jack mumbled against his lips.
“S'ok. Don't stop,” he said, thrusting his hips against Jack's. “You did your paperwork.”
Jack smiled and kissed him. “I know how much it turns you on when I do it without asking.”
Ianto moaned and kissed him deeply. Jack thrust against him. Ianto lifted a leg and hooked it around Jack's hip. Jack's hand found it's way between them, wrapped around the pair of them and frantically pulled on their trapped cocks. Ianto's mouth fell open, his head hitting the wall as he gasped for air. Jack's mouth attached itself to his neck.
“Jack! Jack I'm gonna-” was all the warning Jack got before Ianto came, coating their stomachs, his body shuddering and shaking. “Sorry,” he panted softly.
“What for?” Jack asked, kissing over his face.
“Couldn't hold out,” he said, flushing. Ianto reached down to join his hand with Jack's and increase the pace on Jack's cock.
“Ahhh,” he moaned. “S'okay.” He thrust hard and fast into their hands a couple of times before coming himself, pressing hard against Ianto and biting down on Ianto's shoulder. “It's just a quickie in the shower.”
Ianto rolled his eyes. “Whatever happened to you being charming and dashing?”
“Well... it's bound to wear off after 207 years.”
Ianto lowered his leg. “203 years don't count.”
Jack frowned. “What? Yes they do!”
Ianto stared at him incredulously. “Jack, you cannot be serious. For 197 years you were fucking other people.”
“So were you!”
“No, actually, I wasn't.” Ianto told him coolly as he pushed Jack away and stood under the shower. He efficiently washed himself.
“Wait, what?”
“You heard me.” Ianto rinsed the soap off.
Jack forced him to turn around. “Ianto-”
“You just assumed that I was off having a good time with other people. I was in a war, Jack. For majority of the time, I was frozen, and the time that I wasn't? I was running for my fucking life. I didn't have time to hook up and fuck other people. I was too busy trying to stay alive.” He got out of the shower and grabbed his towel. “Even if I had the time, you weren't there.”
Ianto walked out of the bathroom, leaving Jack standing there in the shower in shock. He'd never thought about it before, not really. He'd just assumed that with all the time they'd been apart, Ianto must have … but he was right. Who would he have hooked up with? He wasn't like Jack. He wasn't open to inter-species relationships, and when he was on Havaasana, it wasn't like it was a holiday.
Jack quickly washed himself, shut off the shower and got out, grabbing his towel and heading into the bedroom. Ianto was still there, getting dressed.
“I'm sorry,” Jack said softly. Ianto's hands paused while he was flipping his tie. He glanced at Jack's reflection in the mirror that hung on one wall. “I... I just assumed that... I mean, we never talked about you and other people.” Jack sat down on the bed, his head in his hands. “Fuck! Knowing that I've been with all those people... when you never once... Ianto. I'm so sorry.”
Ianto looked away from Jack's reflection in the mirror. “It's fine.” He straightened his tie and turned around.
“Ianto, it's not fine.”
Ianto picked up his waistcoat and put it on. “It's done, Jack. It's the past. You can't change it and neither can I. You were lonely, I understand that. Did it hurt? Yes. Did I get over it? Yes. Will you do it again-?”
“No! Never!” Jack stood up and strode over to Ianto, grabbing him and pulling him against him. “Never, I promise.”
Ianto smiled and kissed him softly. “Only you can forgive yourself Jack. You already have mine.” He rested his forehead against Jack's. “Get dressed. We have some catalogues to pour over. Donna's already calling the contractors to commence work on the floorplan.”
“What did she think?” Jack asked as Ianto pulled out of his embrace.
“She thinks it's going to be beautiful. And expect to be called Robin at some point.” Ianto headed for the ladder.
“Robin?” Jack frowned. “Why Robin?”
Ianto grinned. “Because I'm Batman to her.” He laughed as he ran up the ladder.
“What?! No way! I'm Batman! Ianto! I'm Batman!” Jack scrambled to get dressed and chase his lover up the ladder.
