Today's public entry is going to be about age...
I hear a lot of my friends complain about being "old." Most of them not being so old themselves. A lot of them aren't much over 18 or are in their early to mid 20's. I myself am 28 for those of you who don't know or haven't been following along. My birthday is January 4. (Keep up here folks!)
I can honestly say that my life experiences have aged me quite a bit. Mostly the ones in the last 10 years. I still like a lot of the same things as I did as a child or even a teenager. However my tastes have changed greately as I have grown into adulthood. I find myself relating to my older friends more and more these days versus my younger friends. Not that my younger friends aren't a blast to hang out with on occasion. I just physically can't keep up with them anymore.
I can honestly attribute these changes in my behavior and body to motherhood and the fact that I am nearing closer and closer to 30. They say you are a woman when you hit puberty and start menstration. I don't believe you are a true woman until you have experienced life and gone through some of it's hardships. (same applies to men, but I can only speak from a womens perspective here.)
I'm talking loss of life, love, and frienship. Also the hardship of having to earn your own way through society and be out there completely on your own. Not living off mommy and daddy's dime. Putting in a hard day's work cleaning, cooking, taking care of the home and then still having to do more if you have a job or kids or both. The physical demands it takes on us.
Now I know I am not old by any means. My grandfather is 77 and goes to the gym on a daily basis. To look at him you wouldn't know he worked in a factory most of his life 50+ hours a week. At the age that he is. My great grandmother is 102. Basically what I am saying is people live a long time. Life is hard though.
Your life may be harder than the person sitting next to you. Their life may be harder. You may never know. Don't judge or complain. Just go through your day. Put on a smile and try the best that you can and make the best with what you have.
age,
pain,
life
