I finished Humanities II with an A, and now I'm onto Biology. The class is a joke, but at least I get a good hour of drawing in every day.
Phil sent me an email last week. Phil, head of
Big Fish Swim School, commissioned me in high school to draw him a hammerhead mascot named Nailz. He said in the email he wanted me to do more stuff for him. Since my current summer class isn't demanding at all, I was all for it. I had a business dinner with Phil on Sunday night. He wants me to do more Nailz pictures, but more importantly, he's working on an instructional animated series for his swim school, and he wants me to design the characters. They're all cute, anthropomorphic animal children, so that will be really easy. Plus, it will be great for my portfolio, especially since I don't normally draw/caricature animals.
On Sunday morning, Steve found a duckling in the road. We tried going to Lake Lily to find it an adoptive family, but all the mummy ducks attacked him when he tried to join their kids. :/ So we're taking care of him. He's really little, only a couple days old, and he doesn't know how to feed himself so we are force feeding him. (Although, he's really active, so we think the little bastard is probably eating when we're not around.) Also, we bought two more ducklings from the feed store to keep him company and hopefully teach him to eat. They are like five times the size of our baby, but they get along. Mom keeps calling them mine, probably because I kept fawning over the original baby and I wanted to keep him in the beginning. So I got to name them, so I christened them Thor, Mephistopheles, and Kevin. Guess which one is Kevin.
Oh, and we saw an otter at Lake Lily. RIGHT NEXT TO US. It was so much better than Sea World.
After school today, I went to the farm to help Mom help Aunt Janice get ready for the party tomorrow. I mostly just washed dishes and watched baby D'Amery. He is huge, huge, HUGE! He is an eating machine. For lunch he had a whole bottle of formula, meat sticks, crackers, and three strawberries I chopped up for him! My wrists hurt so bad from carrying that beast around. Babysitting is a lot easier than I thought it would be. I have never done it before, but all I had to do was sit with him and watch him pound his playthings. Mom changed his diaper, thank the Lord.
Good news! Steve says Pet Bazaar sells bullfrog tadpoles! I want one so bad!!! Mom says I can't have one, though, because I already have three pets (the ducklings). They are really cute (way cuter than chicks) but I want a tadpole! It's not my fault Steve found a retarded baby duck in the road! omg.
And would it kill Helprin to throw in a date every so often? Even once? I have no flipping clue when Winter's goddamn Tale is supposed to take place. What a blowhole.
