Aaaaaaaaaaaand Christmas, relentlessly, came again. You'd think it'd get the hint and STOP COMING after perhaps 5 years of celebrating it the "religious" way but NOPE it's on its way and I'm just sitting here going, "Oh come now leave already, you..."
So I asked my cousin for a pony and my dad for a castle and my sister for a magic wand and and...wait no I didn't. I went out with another ATC octet and people at the party at which we were singing were drunk enough to love our less than blended noises that we called Christmas Carols. I was amazed.
On...Monday I think it was, another octet went touring around the 4 clumped together hospitals in downtown Sacramento and sang for the cancer patients mostly. It was really touching and I was sitting there singing "Away In A Manger" trying not to cry as an 80-year-old man started crying as did his nurse. We sang to and hugged another lady who was going to go into surgery later that day and she was so happy to see us after such a hard year. As we went from room to room where people requested songs, our sound got better and we were actually there with some sort of purpose. The last time I went in my DCChor (oh bleh) uniform, I just liked singing my part as showely as I could but this time we actually banned together remembering dynamics and shape.
There was a remarkable powerstruggle between 2 of our leaders and I have to say, these ATC girls have it down. They can fight and yet make pretty noise at the same time. My tactic would have been to reach out and punch the other girl I like so little, but her opponent made a compromise. Wow. Who'da thunk?
Christmas Eve means good food. And cleaning the turkey out of the fridge. Heh, ooops.
