Ran the Back Bay 5K this morning. Cold but I ran well and then froze afterwards. The course was completely on the esplanade... haha I could probably run it blindfolded by now. It took Chi Phi a little too long to get organized and to register everyone so the race started late and some people were getting cold, hungry and bored. Once it started though the run was great; there were around 100 participants so the course wasn't crowded at all and I paced with an older guy for most of the race. I think I kicked too soon at the end since I wasn't sure where the finish line was so he finished before me. I came in 6th overall and first for females. The guy who won the race was ridiculous, he probably finished a minute faster than second place. The course felt a little short, but this 5K was definitely a lot easier than the Race for the Cure, at least I felt I ran faster and stronger and wasn't drained at the finish. I'm not sure how I feel about 5K's, they're over so fast and I feel like I hit my prime right before the race is over. I should try longer races, maybe 10K or 10 milers.

For "winning" the girls' division I got a really cool Houdini pack from Patagonia. I was just thinking recently of getting one for long runs/hiking since they're more convenient than lugging around water bottles.

Only 9 days until Boston!
