little help...?
So...I'm researching for a paper on the American Consumer History of Dolls. Don't ask me to explain more - I'm still trying to figure it out myself. All I know is that it's gonna be fuckin interesting. I didn't realize there were so many dimensions to the subject until I started trying to tackle it and find sources for this odd little paper. I mean, there are all kinds of issues tied up in it - consumerism, identity, gender, childhood, play, marketing, collecting...etc. etc. etc. But anyway, the point is that I'm having a hard time scaring up enough material. So if any of y'all have any ideas for me (like books about barbies or cabbage patch dolls, or kinds/brands/names of dolls that were popular pre-barbie), do not hesitate to step forward. You will be showered with gratitude and possibly even smooches.
