So....I just got off the phone with a dear friend after a rather heady discussion about epistemology - the question is: what is the role of reason? Is it the best way to arrive at truth? Is it the only way? What is the role of poetry and metaphor (and this category includes religion)? What kind of insight can it provide? Any at all? These are not necessarily answerable questions, but they certainly lead us down some fascinating rabbit holes. I'd love to hear your thoughts....
