Hey Missy, I'm just going to go out on a limb here and guess that you are new. I'm Inspector Zenigata, and I'm a cop.

[He actually pulls out his badge and holds it over the camera so that the young woman can see]

I want to help you, but I'm going to need you to calm down for a minute and tell me a little bit about your surroundings. Can you do that for me? I promise, nobody is going to hurt you, but it would be best if we got you into town.

[Lindsay unfortunately misses the badge, as it takes her a while to stop looking around frantically and pinpoint the source of the voice as the book near her foot. She lifts the cover and peers under nervously before turning it right way up so she can see the journal's interface.]

Th-there's a lot of trees all around... though there's a little bit of a clearing to the left... [Um... what else... Where was this person anyway? This journal was... sort of like a walkie talkie, maybe?] Oh, uh, there's... some mountains that way too.

I think so. I'm... I'm not sure where it's coming from... [She pauses again before looking behind her] ... but I-I think it's that way.

[And she does keep the book open. It's... it's exactly like Inspector Zenigata says. It helps, knowing that someone else is there to help... that she's not all by herself.]

So... there's a town here?

[It's the first question she thinks of. But a town means people.]

Yep, there sure is. More of a village, but some people call it town. It sure ain't New York thats for sure.

[Zenigata makes his way up along the river, having taken up the mantle of patrolling for new feathers. Only natural for a cop, after all. He's not the most sensitive type, though so he may come off as gruff]

[The comment about New York causes a jolt of surprise. So wait... there... there were other people from Earth here too? That was... definately different from last time. Not that she'd really thought that much recently about there maybe being other worlds, but... she'd just assumed he was maybe from here, or something.]

From a small town in Arizona. Most people haven't heard of it. It only has one high school and everything.

[She pauses and... since she's been wondering, and she's pretty sure, but hasn't actually confirmed it.]

[Only because she's done some involuntary world-hopping once before. But she's too busy looking at that river to mention it right now. Not to mention it kind of... tends to unnerve a lot of people back home.

And staring ahead - the river does seem to be growing louder. She squints ahead, and sees maybe a sliver of water in a gap between some trees.] I think so!

Great. Stick down on the riverbank. I'm on my way, miss. [Remarkably calm though. Zenigata charges off down the riverbank into the forest with his trademark "MATTE LUPIN!" speed.]

O-okay.

[And when she gets to the river proper, she just... kind of stands there... Should she head downstream or just wait here? Probably downstream... Rubbing her arm once awkwardly, she turns and begins to pick her way down the riverbank. She's moving slowly enough though that, whether they're heading towards each other or in the same direction, he should be able to catch up fairly easily.]

[After a while a man in a brown coat, wearing a hat and looking like the stereotypical Japanese detective comes barreling down the river bank until he spots a girl in New Feather clothing]
