[When Lindsay wakes up, the first thing she's aware of - other than the ache behind her shoulders - is that she's lying on the ground. At first, this doesn't really register as abnormal; it's not the first time she's fallen asleep on the ground, though part of her, in a dazed, not-fully-concious way, wonders who the heck stole her bedroll. Then ( Read more... )

[ Oh dear this is rather troublesome. Helios sounds concerned and his tone is comforting as possible. The jarring realization of being brought somewhere entirely different doesn't sit well for many. So he understands Lindsay's panic. He'll try to be as helpful as possible though. ] It's all right, miss. I-I know it's confusing and frightening, but there's people here to help you. [ A pause. ]

This, this is Luceti. It's-it's another world separate from your own.

[There's a lot of panic whirling around her head right now... and it makes clear and rational thought fairly difficult. Her breathing's fast, shaky, almost hyperventilating and she barely realizes it.

A lot of what Helios says doesn't really register, even though the tone does help a little bit. Something that does catch her attention though, is the name. And a different world. She was right, this... this place wasn't home, but...]

L-luceti?

Ah, Yes it's-it's strange I-I know. But don't worry. You're safe. There's a village nearby that you can find a suitable place to stay. And everything you need is provided there.

[ He doesn't want to make her panic more though, so he pauses in his explanation. ] If, if you want. I could possibly help you back to the village. There's a stream that one can follow too.

[This is Luceti. Luceti, not Otherworld. Or was Luceti a town? but she wasn't in a town. Or village. This person - whoever he was - said he could help her find the village? Where was this person anyway?]

Wh-where are you?

I'm in the village, in one of the apartment houses they have here. [ A pause. ]

Would you like me to meet you?

[... oh. So... he wasn't here, then? So... how was he talking? She looks around vaguely, and finally spot the journal. Lifting it up and absently brushing dirt off of it, she blinks down at the interface. Was it like... some kind of computer or something?

She shakes her head. He said something about wanting to come find her, right? Or... something like that. It would mean someone's there, that she wasn't there by herself (and Thylos). And he seemed nice.]

Okay.

I'll be there soon. Ah if you wouldn't mind...there's a camera I think? [ Yes. A camera. He's fail when it comes to technology don't mind him. ]

On the journal, if you could turn it on and show the surrounding area. I-I might be able to get there faster. [ Probably not by teleporting. That was always a startling way to introduce oneself. So he'll walk there but any indication of where she was would be helpful. ]

[Lindsay meanwhile, is a modern teenager to the bone, and is able to figure out which button activates the video feed fairly quickly. She frowns in puzzlement down at the journal.]

I... I think it's working now. Is it?

[ Helios will fumble with his own video option before turning it on. It's a bit tricky when you can't read. But he'll smile and nod on his end. ]

Yes! That's it. I can see you perfectly clear. Amazing what these things can do, hm? [ He'll also start to head out of his apartment to try and find you Lindsay. ]

Yeah, I guess...

[I mean, a computer or phone can do the same thing back home, but this is the first time she's ever seen a book do something like this before. She carefully lifts a few pages, trying to spot some kind of... mechanism or something. But all there is is more pages.]

How does it even work?

[ How does it work? Wrong question to ask the technologically challenged. ] I'm not sure. A bit of magic maybe? Or, ah, technology of some sort...

[ Just silence, only broke by the faint cracking of twigs and leaves underneath his feet. ]

I dunno... Magic might make more sense... There's nothing in or under the pages... they're too thin to have any like... wires or anything...

[She flips through the corners of the journal again. She's still nervous and rattled, but the conversation is proving to be a good enough distraction she isn't looking too far into it. Some part of her does notice, distantly, that she is talking with someone who is talking about magic seriously...]

Oh is that right? [ Helios has no idea. He's so bad with technology as it is that it's just funny. ] I've heard of...things in my world. Electronic books or something like that. Very strange, really, my students seem to enjoy using them though.

[ Kite, no wait, he'll get this. ] Kindle or something like that.

[ Just mumbling to himself. Also Lindsey you'll hear shuffling nearby as if someone was walking towards you... ]
