[Siren's Pull] Application Q&A

Jun 06, 2011 16:56

(Hello, long-time no see friends listers who don't rp or intend to rp at sirenspull . You can totally disregard this, at it pertains to game-specific roleplaying.)

Let's talk about apps, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let's talk about apps

Okay, so cheesy informalities aside, this post is an open-forum discussion for appteam, players, and prospective players to chat freely about what makes for a good, solid Siren's Pull application with minimal issues, the things we look for, the things that commonly require revisions, things that stand out as points in your favor, and stuff to avoid, ways to keep strengthening and raising the bar for our game.

I love it when a clean application is an easy accept, appteam loves it, you love it, so we're going to hopefully give you some pointers, and you'll hopefully come away knowing a little bit more about our expectations.

I'm gonna break it down section by section, let members of Appteam grab in some input, seasoned players may input helpful hints and pointers too, and below that I'll open it up for any additional commentary/questions?

It's likely that what we expand upon talking about here will be compiled and included in the next round of updates on our Application Guide.

1) Be respectful. This is the first time I'm opening up the 'fire away' for Q&A about applications, and doing so on my personal journal, so stay polite.

2) Be constructive. Please don't attack us for past decisions or our criteria, as this is an attempt to make things easier for everyone. Please don't turn this into a roasting session on any applications we haven't accepted. We aren't looking to single anyone out, but to better communicate our expectations as a whole.

3) Anon commenting is tentatively on, but screened. Don't abuse the privilege.
