Oh look, yet another story i can't seem to finish.
Regina took her time walking from her car to Gran's where she knew her son would be with Emma. She thought on her latest visit with Belle. She was puzzled as to why the girl still asked after a Rumpelstiltskin. she didn't know who he was, and always told her as much. This time, she lied. As the mayor neared the diner, she already saw Emma through the window. The blonde was smiling at something that the boy was saying to her, and then her head tilted downwards to look at a piece of paper he was writing on. Seeing as Henry had his favorite pencil in hand, Regina assumed that he was working on his homework. He had a book report due, and Regina worried that he hadn't read anything that wasn't from that blasted book Mary Margret had given him. Regina looked at her watch and worried her lip. Then she sighed before she hurried into the diner. "I've got an emergency meeting to attend to." she said, briskly walking towards Emma and Henry.
"everything alright?"
"Not your concern, but yes. I am extending visitation if you like. Just have him home by 5. I'll be home with dinner by then."
"Oh okay," Emma said. though Regina didn't look at Emma this whole time, she knew the blonde was disappointed.
"Don't get into too much trouble," Regina warned, her look somewhat playful as it was directed at Henry.
"I wont," the boy promised.
Emma watched as Regina left once again, and she tried to understand Regina's actions. She was grateful for the extra time with Henry, but why now? Just last week, she said that there was no way that she would let her near Henry again, and now... "come on. you're almost finished with your math."
Outside, regina watched for another couple of moments before she headed. She had a rare afternoon off, and she was sure that she had a few books on her shelf that she had yet to read.
