Sanctuary
I have been spending the majority of the day watching Sanctuary season one. I am sorely behind, and it has been in my Que on netflix for some time. I am on episode 7- The Five. I am starting to understand. One of the characters is called Nicola Tesla. Okay, now there is a gun on Warehouse 13 that lets out an electric charge, and it is called the Tesla gun. Was this on purpose? A slight crossover because they are both SyFy shows? Will there be more obvious crossovers with Sanctuary in the future? I mean, they did one with Eureka... Of course, I am probably the last to make this connection, as it was somewhat mentioned in a Warehouse 13/Sanctuary crossover story I have been waiting for updates, but as I watch Sanctuary, I understand more what is happening in the story. I think I may go back and reread it from the beginning.
Anyway, my thoughts on Sanctuary: Obviously, I don't think it sucks, as I have consumed 7 episodes in one day (so far). I love Warehouse 13, and I wanted to see Sanctuary when it first came out, but I didn't have the time because worked on the nights it came on and I always had internet troubles to catch up. Not it is on Netflix and I could be done with one season tomorrow. I was like this with Dr. Who, watching a full season in two or three days. It was fantastic. (That reminds me, I still have to find the episodes in some sort of order so I can go back and understand some of the other characters that look interesting, as well as the other Doctor incarnations. I am curious to see what other actors have done with the character.) Anyway, I love that the main woman is British. I love that, and she's pretty, but not over the top about it. I also really love the music in the show. Very New Agey. Its beautiful, and there was an episode that had music that felt very Celtic and I am usually oblivious to that sort of thing, but the music in this show made me notice. What I didn't like was how they explained her daughter Ashley. It was just a off handed sort of way of saying what happened and considering, it doesn't make much sense. It could have been a lie, of course, but then... I don't know. I could also complain that at the moment, there isn't much room for femslash, but I hope for more later on. Anyway, enough of this. I want to know more about the Five. (Maybe one or two more will be women, and I can get my femslash fix because I am such a femslash whore.)
