my national day post

I've recently been thinking about what it really means to be in the civil service. :-D

I'm not against government scholarships (duh) and i think it's great that in our country we pay civil servants pretty decently (VERY decently for those at the very top) but while we believe in paying for the best minds, how do we make sure we get the best hearts? or can the best minds be paid well enough to become the best hearts?

I wonder how many civil servants really have a heart for the people and truly believe in integrity, service and excellence. I'm not saying that I'm a model civil servant (ha!), neither am I trying to be some wide-eyed, noble idealist....but some of the crap I've seen go on during my few years in the service makes me think we really need more HEART in the government. Not enough for things to look good on paper alone!

Ok enough seriousness. I bought this today at the huge Sephora in Ion.

Love the name - crazylibellule and the poppies. It smells of jasmine..."like heaven and earth green tea", the dumb salesgirl told me (they should go for job attachments at the NYC Sephora). But I still bought it.

The last thing I want to say is that my complexion has a direct co-relation to how things are at work and my complexion is currently really shite.
