Um...what?
Looks like they finally determined exactly which lines in Mirotic were "harmful to minors" and edited the song accordingly. I just finished ranting at mardigrasmaven at how amazingly silly I think all this is and skipped off to discuss the retardation here on LJ instead.

Now, exactly how "I've got you under my skin" and the other lines (which, IIRC, translate to little more than "I've got you,"--the "worst" of them is closer to "you're my slave," and of course "running through you are millions of my crystal" *snerk*) are offensive to minors, I don't know and won't argue, but...take out "I've got you under my skin" and you lose what is essentially the POINT of the song, you know? Not to mention the catchiest part. Shit, I couldn't stop singing that for like a week and a half the first time I heard it.
I just find it amusing that all of this is coming up NOW, when promotions for that particular song are over and all this will manage to do is make those who are too young to buy it want to buy it MORE. Clever marketing plan is clever--the things we can't have are the things we want most, so we get older friends and family to get them for us instead. Good job, guys.
Really it's less the banning and more "what the hell that was the entire point of the song!" that's getting to me.
In other news, there are a million new posters on my wall and this makes me very happy. So do my two versions of Mirotic (shut up, I wanted the photobook AND the new songs!) and my copies of Lovescream/Remapping the Human Soul. God, kpop/khiphop, what have you done ot my life? Whatever it is I love it don't ever change ♥♥♥♥♥♥
There were other things I wanted to chatter on about, but they've left me, so perhaps another time. I think it's time to go searching for HoMin fic, ohyes.
Oh, and if anyone's done to Christmas wish list meme, link me to it! I like giving gifts~ I wonder if I should do it myself?
