Weather's on the change

I have managed to gain 15 lbs in the past two days. This freak-of-nature moment is brought on by my sudden retention of fluids for some reason which I cannot fathom but I suspect is related to some sort of allergic reaction, as my nose is running like a mucousy firehose.

Aren't you glad you clicked on that link now?

Still, fifteen pounds of fluids is really shitty. That's the equivalent of almost two gallons of water. It means I'm swollen like a pregnant yak that has swallowed a water balloon, stretched thin and in some pain while we're at it. The thing that's scary is that I think my lung tissue is swollen as well, because while I was walking the pooch yesterday, it was really freakin' hard to breathe. Not to inhale or exhale, but like I wasn't getting enough oxygen. That's the same feeling I had when I almost fell off the exercise bike last fall.

It seems to happen when there's high humidity and low pressure. Not every time, but especially in the fall and sometimes in the spring. And this time seems excessive.

Yes, I contacted my doctor's office about it. I'm guessing they'll say drink a lot of water. I have a feeling I'm gonna have to do a few days of dietary changes and rampant flushing to be really effective.

The 15 lb. weight gain pisses me off. I've been on track to lose weight for the past several weeks, slowly but persistently, and this just throws it right out the window. The good news is that if it's just water, it will go off quickly.

And then there's the fatigue level. It makes everything really difficult, and right now is not the time for stuff to be difficult. The swelling makes it hard to move and makes me more clumsy, and the fatigue makes me tire easily.

suck, sick
