I know the guys who do all the fireworks set up for the art projects and they told me that there is not that many planned for this year. I was worried if there would be anything cool to see, but this looks amazing! He posted this in tribe asking for help....
As I've been clued by others and am now finding, the org gives just enough honorarium to hook you, but never as much as you need. This year a slew of projects (Megatropolis, Syzygryd, The Temple of Flux to name a few) are rounding out their funding with kickstarter.com. The catch is, you need to hit your funding goal within the specific time frame or you get nothing. We're at about 75% with a week to go. I want to ask you to check out our video, see what's up with the project (which is street-named The Portal), and help us reach our goal. $20 helps; $5 helps.
As much as anyone I hate begging and I really fuckin' hate online begging. This isn't really that: as much as I'm desperate to buy these extra pipes and pickups and lighting, I want just to sort of display this thing we've been working on to the exclusion of all else this summer and invite you to come check it out. You will anyway, but there's a real magic to this. Check it out below, and if you're inclined, if you'd be prone to buying me a drink otherwise, won't you please pledge whatever's easy for you to the project? If we don't hit the goal you're off the hook, but there's some dope shwag in it for you if we do. I know this isn't probably the richest vein to mine for patronage, but y'all're my public in a certain way and at least you know what it's about.
