So we are in NY for a visit and on Wed. we went to Ellen's Star dust dinner on Broadway and 50th. Great comfort foods and good live preforming waiter/waitresses. Then we went to see what was at the discount tickets, booth on Broadway. We got half price tickets for Fuerzabruta! It was a blast! I loved it sooooooo much! It was worth the ticket and more! It made me want to go play in the rain and puddles like I was a kid again! If you ever come to NY you have to see it! Anyone living in NY should see Fuerzabruta. It is very hard to explain, it starts out with this guy on a huge treadmill thingy walking faster and faster till he's running, then people join him on it going in the other direction. It looks like a normal walk through NY city, but when the other people get to the end of the tread thingy they fall off the end dramatically onto a mattress with a load thump. At one point the main guy run through a wall of boxes that explode with confetti all over all of us. Then this square plastic trampoline comes down from the ceiling with a girl inside of it in water, and a guy attached to the bottom of it facing her. She starts slipping, sliding, spinning on top of him in the trampoline and he tries the whole time to mirror her. They end up kissing through the plastic by the end of it. Then these girl hanging on guidelines near the walls covered in this shinny/sparkly silver lamay curtain start to roll around the room, then get up and chase each other back and fourth around the whole room! All the while this is being done to a throbbing sexy south American techno beat. At one point they lower this huge clear plastic trampoline over the crowds heads low enough that you can touch and interact with the acrobatic dancers. They slip and slide over your head in the water making cool patterns happening just above your head! Then they come into the crowd and dance with you!
We tried to get discount Wicked tickets but they didn't have any. So we went to
Lucky Cheng's last night and it was a lot of fun. There was this party for this girl's 21 birthday there and we all did karaoke! The food was good and the drag queens were funny, but it is a bit pricey. Today we spent the afternoon at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, it is huge and you could spend days going through everything. We were here for New Years and did the armory, Egyptian section, impressionist art, that is where we left off so that is where we started off to day. We did china as well as the rest of the impressionist and had lunch there. The cafeteria food sucked! We were told to get the sushi, that is was great, but they were closed. All in all I am having a good time with my family. I am staying to driving my mom back home, and my husband is going to be flying home without me. :*( I will miss him!
