[Picture Post]: Weird West Steampunk
I had started working this particular costume a few months before SteamCon but did not intend to wear it this year because I wanted to allow the pieces to simply come into my possession in their own time. (Though I did loan it to Colleen for Steamcon since she needed a last minute costume for a day she had not planned on attending.) For example, one day chocolate_goo realized that a tricolored skirt she had didn't fit her right so she tossed it to me, and now it's apart of this costume. Anyways, I still have some tweeking that I want to do to this one but for right now it's pretty decent.
The plan is to find my own hat and punk it out as well as a duster, plus I want to find some great boots too. I really want to make this one rough so when I find the pieces I am searching for I am gonna age them a ton! Plus I want to make new holsters for my guns that Flo has and uses. I'll also probably include a length of rope on a hip or maybe a single tail whip *grins* and have rebelprivateer bind my hair with matching rope. I have a few more ideas floating in my head but I'm gonna catch up on some westerns and see what else inspires me.
This particular day I borrowed fae_raven's Aussie Duster and hat because it was DARN COLD on the Seattle Underground tour and I had no time to go hunting for my own.
Oh and a side note: the fabric around the neck actually comes up over the face as "protection" from the elements but I forgot to pull it up fr the pix. LOL!
