So I went to Body, Mind, and Spirit tonight to support my friend Merrie. (She is teaching an 8 week Intro to Paganism course and she needed to borrow some of my books for visual aids.) It was fun even though I was already familiar with all of the info being presented. Left class early to lend an ear to a friend in need. (*Smiles* You know who you are... it was nice talking to you babe. I miss heart-to-hearts like that and I am so giddy that you called me to talk.) So afterwards, I headed back into the shop to chat with some of the locals and buy some pagan stamps that I have been "eye-balling" all year. (side note: I can't wait to craft on Wednesday!!!) YEAH! Anyways, the store owner and the coffee shop owner both noticed my new ink and asked me to show it off. Once the sweater came off, I instantly became the talk of the shop... yes I had a tank top underneath... get your freakish minds out of the gutter ya'll! Everyone loved my new art, they all wanted a referral but I had to break the news to them that my artist lives in Alaska now! :-(
Then I come home to
nighteyes_70's meme and decided to take it too! LOL!

The Piercings and Tattoos Test written by

Ok Cupid, home of the
32-Type Dating Test And to sum up the ink and piercings madness... you know I have the tongue ring and you saw my "new ink" last week so here are my other three tattoos (well four if you count the addition of a shooting star around my first tattoo! LOL!
This is a picture of my first and second tatts and they are on my right shoulder blade and in total it is about 3x3 inches. It was done by Chris P from the Dancing Dragon back in 1997. The first was the Sun and the Moon to represent myself (I was a lifeguard and swim coach so I worked and lived by day) and my husband (who worked by night as a soldier) being joined as one, forever, as a balanced half of one another. The two small stars around "us" are there to represent two of the most important peeps in my life... my two sisters! (According my my old journal this one took about an hour and a half.) After our son was born I had the shooting star added going around "Jim and I" because he is our "star" in life! James from the Dancing Dragon did it in 1999. (That only took about 40 minutes.)
This is my third tattoo, it is on my left ankle and it's about 1.5" x 1.5" so it is my smallest ink job. My baby sister and I both have this piece in the same spot, we are both partial to the celtic knot work, we both love this symbol, there are three of us (although our middle sister does not have any ink we still wanted to include her), the purple is for my favorite color and the green is for Kiki's favorite color. James from Dancing Dragon did both of our pieces and I think it was done in 2000. (This one was about 1 1/2 hrs.)
And no... the text "Sisters Three... inked you and me" is just a part of the graphic I made for Kiki... I don't have those words tattooed on me. Matter of fact I have NO words on my body! LOL!
This is one I got in 2005 when I had lost half of my "goal weight" and I started feeling sexy again. At the time I was so in touch with my spirituality that I was finally ready to permanently mark myself with a symbol of my faith! So I began researching patterns, art, anything that would inspire my new piece. I have always loved autumn and I am partial to trees and leaves so I went to the Dancing Dragon and I talked with a few of the artists. Chris P was too busy to take me that day so he handed me over to Matt W. Once I talked with him and showed him some sketches & ideas that I had he went to work. About 40 min later he came out with this sketched out and it was better than I expected! I loved that he made the triple moon look like aged stone instead of the "clean lines" I had originally asked for! The leaves and vines wrap almost all the way around. Matt left room for me to add the celtic symbol for motherhood on the inner part of my ankle and then the leaves will be closed up. Of course I might have to go to Alaska to have that finished! LOL! Goddess... I love this piece. It took 4 hours but it was soooo worth it!
My Phoenix Tattoo And then of course my most recent piece was also done by Matt and it took a total of 6 1/2 hours! Done in a 5 1/2 hr setting and a second 1 hour setting... of course it still needs to be touched up a bit more! (Since I was still too scabbed over to get close to the ink from the previous session... it was done only 5 days apart due to Matt leaving for Alaska!) I have to go in and talk to Chris tomorrow about that! Anyways, the Phoenix was to represent my own rebirth. Not only do I have a new body but I am leading a new life, full of love, sex, and new endeavors. So it was a gift to myself for graduating school, getting honors, succeeding in my weight loss, being fit again, basically I was reborn and I needed to mark that time in my life with something significant. Of course I don't know how much more symbolic I could have gotten with this one, not to mention that it is by far, my biggest piece and it has now inspired me to get another one of the same size on my other shoulder. I want to get a dragon in greens and blues and have the main part of the dragon either on my front and have the tail go over my shoulder and wrap around my star/moon/sun tattoo or I want the dragon itself to wrap around the tattoo like it is holding it and have the tail go over my shoulder (like the phoenix). I have not decided yet and that one I am going to wait to get until I move and start my new career. I will need the extra strength a dragon can give me not to mention it will balance out my ink!
Welp, enough inkness... it is late and I still have to read another chapter in my "thread" book! LOL!
