Goodness my week has really gotten away from me... I never added an entry about my tattoo experience on Monday... Short recap... getting a phoenix tattooed on my left shoulder that wraps around my shoulder and onto my chest! It's my way of symbolizing my "rebirth" as a sexy, healthy, empowered woman reborn of the flames of obesity that kept me prisoner for most of my life!
here is the skinny without much detail....
Arrived on time...
Got a price quote (cheaper than I expected... Matt man you ROCK!)...
Left to get the cash...
Matt surprised me by telling me that he did not draw anything up, that he was just going to draw it directly on me...
After 1/2 hour of drawing the inking began at 2:30pm ...
Took the first break for "a nic fit" (Matt) and a thirst fit (for me) after the black was done...
Took the second break after 4 hours in the chair (I had to pee)...
After 5 1/2 hours in the chair my guts were in KNOTS, I was white as a ghost, in pain throughout the abdominal region and ironically enough the tattoo really was not hurting (thanks to some Tylenol 3). Other artists filtered into my room encouraging me that it was OK to stop and to come back another day but I wanted to drive on. After another 15 minutes I had to call it quits, I was doubled over in pain by then.
THANKS TO LACEY I was not alone and THANKS TO WENDY I did not have to worry about DJ while I was going through the most horrid pain I have felt since my WLS last year. I felt like I was in labor, these pains just came and went sporadically. After an hour, Lacey took me to the ER.
Tests run...
Tests show nothing...
More tests....
Still nothing...
Doctors completely baffled...
They give me an antispasmodic drug, anti-inflammatory, and a pain killer. Followed by a script for some kind of acid neutralizing stuff for the colon. Weird.... I was better. Followed up with the surgeon today, HE IS BAFFLED! Although he suggests MORE water, exercise, and LESS STRESS! Life is so ironic!
So next Monday, 5pm... I must return to Matt's chair one last time to finish my tattoo... YEAH ALL THAT AND IT IS STILL NOT DONE! So I return for his LAST day at the Dancing Dragon before he moves to Alaska with his family! I am gonna miss the guy, he does WONDERFUL work... I cannot wait to share the finished product, ya'll!!! Guess this phoenix has one last trial for me before it will grace my skin forever! LOL!
