Christmas Day
OK, so hubby and I stayed up waaayyyyyy too late putting together Legos last night! I am so freaking exhausted! Oh well, it's the price you pay as a parent!
So Christmas Eve was a blast, played Guesscatures and Scategories with the family and Kiki's boss (Trish.. she rocks) until the wee hours of the morning. Sent everyone home and Jim and I stayed up putting Legos together for Donald. Then we went to bed around 5am EST.
10 am EST Donald wakes us up with the sounds of Star Wars Lego starfighter battles in the next room. We go in and ask him if Santa has been here yet and he acts surprised.. the kid is so trained to be quiet and play in his room until we wake up that he NEVER went downstairs to look! LOL! So he read a letter aloud that was left by Santa (thanking him for being generous with his donations throughout the year and reminding him to keep up his grades, reading, and his art... he also reminded DJ to clean up his dirty laundry in the living room) then he took the leftover cookies and reighndeer food and toossed it outside for the God & Goddess (hehehe... yes, he is learning, guess he's seen us clean up after ritual enough now...lol), and then he opened his gifts for the big guy. He got some more imaginext and SW Attacktix... so he is super happy! (Although Jim and I noticed that the elves are slacking on their quality this year... the Series two starter pack he got for Attacktix has series one toys in it with series two labels.... darn elves! LOL! Guess we're going to Wal-mart to get the real pack! LOL!)
Anyways, then we got ready and headed over to my SIL's for christmas celebration with Jim's family! I was kinda dreading it b/c me and the MIL don't get along so well but things went suprisingly well. Everyone did their best to respect DJ's and I's no smoking zone so we were able to stay much later than we usually do. And of course... we played a MONDO game of Hand & Foot (they already knew how to play Chris... and here we thought we'd teach them something new! LOL!) to which me and my BIL David kicked ass! LOL! They play a bit different and have a little bit different scoring rules but it was fun nevertheless! Afterwards Jim, DJ, and I headed back to my folks house and we played several games of Euchre before Jim and I threw in the towel and headed for bed...
so here I am in my jammies and my new fleece shirt typing away my sleeping hours.... I have a fun filled day of exchanging gifts, working out, and going to the post office tomorrow, but at least afterwards my sister Dana and I are planning on hanging out together.
Side note: She has never asked to just "hand out" with me so I am super excited that maybe, just maybe, things between us really are taking a turn for the better! (We have a long history of despise for each other, heck I used to call her "Evil" but after some soul searching I started making changes and she started reciprocating!) YEAH! I am excited!
OH-- and during some rough housing involving "Uncle Jim", DJ , and all of his cousins... DJ's got his other front tooth knocked out.... so now all the kid want's for Christmas is "his two front teeth"! LOL! Hopefully, he learned his lesson and will not try to bite any more butts!
