Every couple of months, I decide that it would be really cool if I did x.
Usually this manifests in the form of "It would be really cool if I wrote x." (Typically, in this scenario, x is representative of "Brendon giving Spencer a blow job" or "Cook and Archie meet in a universe where music is illegal*"
Apart from too-many hours of Oblivion, I spent yesterday listening to the audiobook version of Wil Wheaton's Just a Geek. After "The end," there is a 40-minute discussion on the audiobook process, which is actually a fascinating process that you never hear about in audiobooks from publishing companies. It got me thinking about all the work that goes into it, but how fun that process can be.
It helped that it was in good company on my Audiobooks playlist on my iPod, with, along with various other audiobooks, my collection of podfics--something I also listened to for some time yesterday.
What this boils down to is: I think it would be really cool if I recorded podfics.
Well, in the long run, I think it would be really cool if I recorded audiobooks, but since I don't think that would be happening at this point (especially since I don't even know how that process goes), podfic.
These things have a drastic tendency to pass in a fleeting fashion, but in the meantime, I seem to have a summer of leisure...
