Another unexpected turn around the bend… [xchain_reaction]
After a bit more talking, some kissing and teasing about my husbands lack of adventure in trying sushi, I relented and chose Indian food. It took us about an hour, but we actually fell asleep. The feeling of his arms around me and just knowing that we’re together in this was enough to put me at ease. Thankfully the baby decided to let me get a bit of sleep as well and when I opened my eyes it was dark in the room, the sun had gone down and it bathed the room in moonlight.
My eyes open slowly and I look up at Wes, who’s sound asleep, and kiss his cheek, slipping out of the bed and wince in pain. I grip onto the blanket and pull it aside, gasping at the sight of wet and blood soaking the sheets. “Oh god,” I whisper as I reach over for the phone, I dial Dawn’s number quickly, rubbing my stomach with slow circles.
“Hello?”
“Dawnie, it’s me.”
“Did you try to escape from your husband?”
“No, I need to know if you can t-take Izzy to Spike and Angel’s and stay there tonight with them.”
“Umm, yeah I don’t see why not…”
“Okay, I have to go. W-wes will call you later.”
“Bye,” she said as she hung up, leaving me to bite my lip as I hang up the phone.
“Honey?” I reach back and shake him gently, trying to keep him from the mess on the bed. I pull the sheet around me and try to cover up my ruined slip. “Wes, sweetie, wake up.” He shifts on the bed and I grip my stomach again, feeling another sharp pain. “W-we have to go…Wesley.”
