About Mara

I just wanted to say that I respect and admire Mara for being a hard working attorney who is beautiful, intellegent, fun, and relatively succesful (at least for her age, c'mon!) and who has morals. I just found out that she is waiting for sex until marriage. Not that I believe premarital sex is wrong, but she has actually stuck by her morals and ( Read more... )

Of course I do! People shouldn't judge or hold other people by their own set of morals. I have seen a lot of people say that they are waiting until they are married and then end up sleeping with "some guy" at the age of 15. While people's ideas and values change, it's nice to see someone that is very firm in what they believe and doesn't go back on it (*cough* Britney Spears *cough*). I totally think it's cool that you want to wait until you are married before you commit the act. It's something very special and very beautiful and the fact that you have saved something for the man you will marry that you haven't given anyone else shows that not only do you respect him and love him but you also love and respect yourself.

Plus it's safer from a medical standpoint. ;) You knew I had to add that!

I don't think it's wrong or immoral or anything of the sort to NOT wait until marriage, but I think it's wonderful that you do. There have not been a lot of people in my life but there are some that I think I would have been better off without knowing, because there's things I wish I could say I saved for my boyfriend that only HE would be able to have (since I'm 100% sure that this is it).

All in all, it would have really been awesome to have shared something unique with someone who really, truly loves me for everything about me. He doesn't feel cheated in any way, but I feel like in a way I cheated myself and him. I sometimes wish I had stood by my vow to do the same.

And trust me, it's not lame or old fashioned in the LEAST to wait until marriage. Just don't get too nervous on your wedding night!

PS -- I am a wedding consultant at David's, so trust me when I tell you that you're not the only woman waiting until marriage to take that plunge. You'd be surprised what I hear in a dressing room.
