Post-Modern Love Affair

it's one of my favourite books. I find the last story to be so touching, especially with how he portrays the whole situation where in high school you share your life with this tight group of ppl but and you get older, everyone inevitably grows up and changes and often turn into ppl you never are able to connect with again.

In its simplicity, the book somehow manages to convey so many truths...

I feel that he started going down him with Girlfriend in a Coma. To me, it was interesting how much more he delved into spirituality and religion and whatnot (more so than Life After God) but sadly there was no wittiness to it, and less popcultured snark to make the book worth it.

I agree. None of his other work has had the same impact, but after I read Life After God, then Hey Nostradamus, All Families Are Psychotic and Miss Wyoming, I was far too turned off to even touch Girlfriend in a Coma, despite everyone telling me that it was his best work.

See, I really don't get where ppl get off thinking that Girlfiend in a Coma is his best work. It's LAME. Personally, I found Microserfs to be his most touching. Mind you, it was the first book of his that I read, but I enjoyed that the most, and then Generation X/Shampoo Planet.
