[ By the time Minato finally sits on the trunk at the foot of his bed to take a good look at the Commuter, he's already read over the letter two or three times and carefully picked through the contents of the chest - not to mention, of course, the requisite staring around the room and down at himself (and oh look, yet another new school uniform) in ( Read more... )

[ Minako's handwriting.. isn't the best, really. In fact, it's a little on the sloppy side, even if it's still readable. Not to mention every dot on an i has been replaced by a heart, typically. ]

It's a school for witchcraft and wizardry, of course! And you know what that means? Magic!

[ No, hearts make it the best. ]

Real magic or pulling rabbits out of hats magic?

[ It makes it recognizable, at least.. this is why she could never fake notes from her parents or whatever. ]

I don't know, maybe you could pull rabbits out of hats with this kind of magic too? I'd have to ask someone about it!

[ Unless her mom wrote things the same way! ]

But this magic is cast with wands?

[He's been looking sidelong at that wand in between writing to Minako, you see.]

[ dffdkjf no, luckily there's only one person like Minako and that's Minako herself.. ]

It is! You just have to swish it around and say the spell, easy as pie! [ no, it's not that easy, Minako.. ]

[ That's true. The world could not handle more Minakos!]

That is a surprisingly normal way to cast magic. Like something out of a book.

[Which is to say he finds it weird to cast magic so traditionally! Or something like that.]

We learn all sorts of magic from books here.. It's pretty boring, actually.

[ since magic is normal to Minako. magical girl and all. ]

I liked just using it back home more!

That actually sounds nice, learning from books instead of on the fly. But you used magic back home? How was it different?

[That there is magic that doesn't involve shooting oneself in the head interests him. He was never actually sure how seriously to take Mr. Edogawa integrative learning magic classes back at his old school.]

You just cast it without a wand! [ her enthusiasm seems to be blasting off the page even with just handwriting. ]

Just point your finger and BOOM, magic!

[Just pointing your finger...
There's a long break in which he's spacing out, thinking about something before he responds.]

That does seem more convenient than a wand and words.

I'm sorry. We've been talking without any introductions. My name is Minato Arisato.

Yes, it's much easier! It's just about going with your gut feeling, you know? Love and magic are very similar in that aspect!

[ and especially love magic. ]

And I'm Minako. Minako Aino-- see, we're almost name twins!

I think magic is easier than love.

And so it seems. We may have to be careful with anything with Roman alphabet initials, then. Pleased to meet you.

((One of the most common fanon names for his "twin" is Minako, actually... though I'll refrain from picking a name for her just in case~))

Oh, it is! Magic isn't anywhere near as varied and multiple-layered as love! It's good that they pulled me into this place so I can at least make sure to still govern all of it as the goddess of love.

Right, right, we wouldn't want people to mistake us for one another.. it's nice to meet you too though!

The goddess of love?

And hopefully that will not be a problem.

That's right! You're speaking to the one and only, honest to god, goddess of love here! I also give out autographs and take pictures with people on request.

[If she wants to call herself the goddess of love, he's not going to question it, he supposes. Still...] What does a the goddess of love, do?
