No. Pokemon aren't real.
...At least I think they aren't. I've never met one before.
Digimon are like living creatures made out of data. My best friend was one.

Pokemon are real, I've seen one. A boy here has one called Pikachu. Its small and yellow. But what do you mean digimon are made of data? What is data? Are they not animals?

I guess you could say it is like information. Digimon are made out of dreams and data. And no? Not really. I mean, some of them can look like animals. Guilmon looked a little like a dragon or a dinosaur. But they can look like humans and robots and all kinds of different things.

But are they alive? The way you describe them, they sound like . . . toys, or perhaps puppets? I do not understand.

A lot of people used to think that. They said that because they were made out of data that they couldn't be real. That they didn't matter as much because of that. That data couldn't feel and couldn't be alive.
[He pauses and turns back to look at her earnestly.]
But that's wrong! They were real! They were alive! The feelings I shared with Guilmon and all the memories we made... That's proof, isn't it? Guilmon is just as real and important as any human.
And when I went to the Digital World, even I became data. If someone says that, doesn't that mean that I'm not real?

I believe that you believe they were real, and I also believe that it's all that matters. Without proof, I cannot make you see the people I have known, or the events I have experienced. No one can see the thoughts and memories of another, but that does not make them invalid. I believe that these digimon were alive, even if others do not.
