[ On goes the video feed. He is still wary of such a device, however, it would seem that the situation more than called for it. ]

It would seem that winter has come upon us quickly and harshly.

Do winters last that long?

As I have been told multiple times, apparently not in this realm.

However where I come from, some have been known to last over seven years.

Eeeh, that's a pretty long winter where you come from. Normally, winters are just 4-5 months, tops.

As many have informed me, ser.

[ If he hears that one more time... he might just clench his jaw so hard that he'll chip a tooth. ]

To all from my world, such a short lengh would seem unfathomable.

Aah, I'm not a ser. I'm Otoya.

So, you're not used to short winters, I suppose?

Then you would have me call you merely 'Otoya'?

[ It is a little too familiar for his liking. ]

I have only seen five winters in my lifetime.

Yep! ...unless you're not used to it.

[ He makes a small awed sound. ] I've been through 15, from when I was born. And they're all less than 6 months.

As your professor, I believe it would be far too familiar.

[ and there are maybe only six or seven people who he would refer to with such familiarity. ]

It would seem that your winters are far more forgiving, then.

[ Professor? Otoya squints a little.

Oh. Oh. Whoops, his bad. But his Defense against Dark Creatures professor looked different ( a little younger?) on screen than in real life, though Otoya's not going to mention that. ]

Aah, winters depend on the area. Where I was born, we don't get much snow but it does get cold.

[ It is probably for the best not to. Points may have been deducted and detentions issued. ]

It is similar where I come from too. In general, the north's winters are far worse than the souths, though the storms along the coast can be a sight to behold.

Un. I know, at least for Japan, when you're higher up north, there's more chance of snow. And the cold is, well, colder.

It would seem that there is a need for those of us unfamiliar with this world to find maps of it.
