Do winters last that long?

As I have been told multiple times, apparently not in this realm.

However where I come from, some have been known to last over seven years.

Eeeh, that's a pretty long winter where you come from. Normally, winters are just 4-5 months, tops.

Aah, winters depend on the area. Where I was born, we don't get much snow but it does get cold.

It is similar where I come from too. In general, the north's winters are far worse than the souths, though the storms along the coast can be a sight to behold.

Un. I know, at least for Japan, when you're higher up north, there's more chance of snow. And the cold is, well, colder.
