Better late than never...
Just so everyone knows... Last Friday (November 11th), I asked Lauren if she'd marry me and she said yes. Terry already let the cat out of the bag (it never really was in one after the 11th and I told him he could mention it) but not everyone has him as one of their "friends".
Anyway, I'm deliriously happy and I'm pretty sure Lauren is too, but I just wanted those who I didn't call or e-mail to know too.
We're waiting obviously until she's done school and whatnot, so there's no date set, but everything's good so far.
One thing that throws me for a loop though... why does everyone ask if she knew? Of course she didn't know. She might have SUSPECTED, but I didn't say "Hey, love, want to meet in Montreal so I can propose? We'll go to a nice hotel...." It's weird that everyone asks that. Are marriage proposals a communal decision now? Were we supposed to ask each other if we wanted to get engaged then decide on a proposal date?
Very strange.
