The camera I want, The canon powershot SX1, is not going to be offered in the States for quite some time. The best reason I got is that it has a different sensor, a CMOS sensor, of the type used in DSLR cameras. This allows it to shoot full frame and full resolution shots of up 4 pictures a second as well as record hi def video. It's twin, or should I say younger brother, the SX10, will have the normal CCD sensor. The theory is that this sensor is less available and Canon knows that they will not be able to keep up with demand here in the Sates.
So, perhaps I might buy the SX10, and sell it and upgrade to a SX1 when I can.
