Update:

I went in for my CT scan today. I was fitted with an IV which pumped me full of water and then a tracer to help contrast the scans. The whole process took all of about 15 minutes, and the tech was very amicable throughout. He even let me back into the control room to see the scans. The scans themselves are simply x-rays but in a series of cross-sections, starting at the clavicle, passing through my lungs and heart, and eventually ending at my liver. Having a look inside your own body is a surreal experience, to be sure. I didn't see anything strange-looking as he was clicking through the frames.

Apparently neither did my doctor. He called me at around 5:30pm to tell me that my CT scan was clean. That means I've got the rest of this weird and wonderful life to live out in the absence of any serious health concerns--at least in the short-term. He did say that my lungs have changed a bit, and it looks like my infection has become worse. So what's come out of all this is that I'm totally healthy, but I've got to get myself on Zithromax.

tl;dr I'm totally healthy other than the bronchitis.
