Aiba has always known Nino. They've been together ever since they were young and Nino has been telling his lies even then. From the fact that watermelons would grow in his stomach when he ate the seeds, or that seals could mate with dolphins, making sealphins in the process. But being the pure and innocent Aiba-chan that he was, he always trusted his friend, even if he discovered that Nino told lie after lie. On what seemed like a normal and typical day, Aiba-chan really wished what Nino told him was the truth.
-----
“..so that's how it is.” Nino smirked while he was pushing the buttons madly on his DS.
“Eh, really? Are you sure? Like really, really sure?”
“I've never been more sure in my life, Aiba-chan.”
“I'd really love it if it were the truth, but...”
“I swear, Aiba.” Nino seemed serious for once, and seeing this Aiba decided to take his friends words to thought, but before thinking too far into the topic, the other Arashi members came in.
“Oh-chan!” Nino paused his game and pushed Aiba off the couch making room for 'his lover'. Ohno comfortably sat down and laid his head on Nino's shoulder. After giving him a slight smile, Nino resumed his game.
Matsujun casually sat down in front of his dresser, put his legs on top of it, and started reading a magazine interview... on himself.
Aiba walked over to Sho, who was hoping he would be able to read his newspaper in peace. He swiftly pulled a chair over and Sho made room for him on the table.
“Something wrong?” Sho looked over at Aiba and gave him a soft and gentle smile.
“Well, you see, Sho-chan. Nino was telling me something earlier, right? And I just wanted to ask you if-”
“Aiba-chan. I really think we've been over this before, and I've already told you that the things Nino tell you are absolutely not true.” Sho sighed and opened his newspaper.
“But, Sho-chan! You didn't even let me tell you what it was yet! How could you just go off and decide for yourself?”
“It doesn't matter. Just trust me. Whatever Nino told you is not true.”
“Ah, is that right?” Aiba was on the verge of tears, but he held it in. 'I knew it was too good to be true...'
They really should give Aiba a role in a drama, because in just an instant, he was perky and hyped up again, and his sullen face disappeared like the speed of how cotton candy would dissolve in your mouth.
“Hey, guys! Let's go eat yakiniku! Yakiniku!” The other members looked up and seemed like they waited for something else. “Uhh...my treat?” Aiba gave them his most puppy-eyed face he could work up.
“Okay! Let's go!” Nino shut off his DS and pulled his Oh-chan off the couch and walked out the door, followed by Matsujun.
“Cmon' Aiba-chan, let's go.” Sho walked to the exit and motioned for him to follow. Aiba gave him just a slight, very slight, smile and walked forward, but it dropped as soon as he was watching the back of Sho's head in depression.

A week and some days later, three of Arashi's members were scattered about their dressing room.
“Aiba-chan, are you feeling okay? You seem kind of down lately...” Ohno looked at his friend, face filled with concern.
Aiba smiled and gave his head a little shake. “I'm fine.”
Ohno nodded, still worried, but turned his attention back to Nino, who was, as usual, glued to his DS. Ohmiya jerked to the sound of an angry voice and even more angered footsteps and thumps.
“What is that? Matsujun?” Nino paused his game and turned his eyes to the door, and jumped a little when it suddenly slammed open, if that was even possible.
“S-Sho?” Ohno's voice trembled at the sight of a very tempered and raged Newscaster. He ran over to Aiba, grabbed the hem of his T-shirt, and drove him against the dressing room walls.
“I've had enough! Why have you been ignoring me lately?!”
Ohno and Nino immediately ran over and tried to pull Sho off.
“Hey, Sho! What are you doing!” Nino pulled as hard as he could, but Sho's hands didn't budge.
“I have no idea what you're talking about.” Aiba's voice was calm, and it even startled Sho at how empty it sounded.
“N-no idea? What exactly are you trying to do?! You've been avoiding me, and you don't answer any of my calls or texts. You don't even talk to me anymore! Did I do something?” Sho seemed to have calmed down, and Ohno and Nino breathed sighs of relief and relaxed their grips on Sho's arms.
“No, you did nothing. I just gave up.” Aiba's voice still sounded outcast.
“Gave up? What are you talking about? Anyways, can't you just forgive me?! Do you have any idea what I've been through this past week!”
Something in Aiba just sparked. He punched Sho hard in the face. Sho lay on the floor in pain as he looked upward at Aiba in shock.
“Do I know what you've been through this week?! Do you know what I've been through all these years? Having to feel this way is really burdening you know?! And it's always been eating away at me!” Aiba's face was streaming with warm tears. “I've had enough! I'm always the only one worrying! You have no idea what I feel! And you have no right to tell me to just forgive you either, you big jerk! After just having rejected me directly too. It's too tiring. Sakurai, I've had enough...” Aiba slowly and silently walked past Sho through sniffles and left the other three there, speechless.
Sho's heart writhed in pain as Aiba called him 'Sakurai', and not the usual 'Sho-chan'.
“Sho...? What just happened?” Ohno walked over to Sho and offered him his hand. Sho just lay there, not moving.
“What happened to you guys? Even after I told him...” Nino looked intently at Sho.
Sho looked at Nino. “Told him? Told him what?” Sho felt like he really didn't like where this was going...
“Remember the other day when we went for yakiniku? Well, before you guys came, I just told Aiba that...”
A pause.
“Sho loves you.”
Sho could of sworn he felt like someone had just punched him hard in the stomach, with a slight touch of wanting to hurl.
He finally remembered the words he had told Aiba, “Absolutely not true...'
Sho hurriedly stumbled to his feet.
“Sho, what's wrong?” Ohno tried to help him.
“I-It was a misunderstanding.. I've got to go tell him!” He rushed out the door and in under five minutes he was starting the engine of his car and driving off to look for Aiba. He came up to a traffic jam and he angrily smashed his car horn. Ahead of him were a long line of cars, and Sho couldn't take it anymore. He opened the door and began to dash, meeting a crowd of people. As he pushed through, comments were repeated around him.
“I heard a car crashed him...”
“He ran out of nowhere..”
“Poor boy...”
“Is he going to be alright?”
Sho felt his heartbeat race faster by the second as he pushed through the crowd. 'Masaki...Masaki...Masaki..' As the paramedics and officers arrived, the body was being carried to the back of the ambulance. Sho stretched his arm out screaming for his life, “Masaki! Masaki! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! Masaki!” The officers wouldn't let him through and he fell onto his knees, thoroughly sobbing. “Masaki!” He started pounding on the floor. “I'm sorry... I'm sorry...”
“Sho...chan?” Sho felt suddenly fully awake by the sound of this familiar voice. He turned around, and there, safe and sound, stood Aiba Masaki. Sho ran full force and wrapped his arms around him in a tight embrace.
“Aiba-chan... I'm sorry...I'm sorry. I-I'm so glad you're okay.” Tears were flowing nonstop.
“Sho-chan...” Aiba tightly held his beloved in place. He now understood. He understood exactly how Sho felt about him. All these years finally paid off. Every single thing that Aiba once worried and doubted now vanished. He knows they'll be happy now. Maybe they just needed the time to understand each other even more, but decided that they did have time. They had forever, and Aiba will definitely, treasure it.

Back in the dressing room...
“Oh my god, Kazu. What have you started now?” Ohno tried to soothe his headache.
Nino gave a 'hmmph' and turned on his DS.
( Matsujun: Ehh?! What happened to me?! )
