Stop the presses... Rachel has a dress?

Ugh. They finally went and knocked down the Tinsley Cooling Towers in Sheffield this weekend. This makes me sad, even more so than when they knocked down Ranmoor Halls. Ranmoor was a big part of my life for a year, but by the time it was demolished it was a part of my life that had been over and done with for nearly four years. The Tinsley towers (google them if you want to know more) were buildings that I never went in, but I would go past them on the train and see them and know I was *home*. Which is why I am sad. Even if it is stupid.

Having a lazy three day weekend to cap off my first week at the new job. It's been tiring (no, really?) because I'm so out of the work routine of getting up early and going to bed early and working for 8 hours in between, but my new job looks like it will shape up to be quite interesting. Most of last week was kind of boring, because it was spent studying for tests on policy and the like, and watching other people work, but I think next week will be better. Also, I have already been paid. Which is nice.

Had to spend lots of money this weekend and buy some clothes for work (basically because the HO didn't have a dress code, and I've dropped nearly 2 dress sizes since the last time I had to wear smart clothes). It might come as a shock to, uh, everybody, but my working wardrobe will now include Rachel in a dress, tights and heels. Even if I have icky legs. Still. I did buy some very cure new shoes though, and in non-working wardrobe clothes I got an awesome tshirt with a picture of penguins kissing on and the slogan "melt hearts not icecaps"! Wore it today with my cropped trousers, black and white fake Cons and my red newsboy cap (yes, I have a hat at last!), because I am just that cool.

I'm thinking this wins the "random post of the week" award, or something. Yeah. Something. :D

sheffield is home
