Warnings: None
effects: optional feelings of sadness and loss?
The scene starts in a dark series of tunnels, weaving down deeper and deeper under the bustling city of Camelot. A dimly lit torch rests at the end of a long corridor. A few shadows play off the stone walls, two shadows in fact, belonging to one young warlock and a very scrawny young woman.
Then the view changes to show the two of them sitting, huddled together as the young girl strains to keep from sobbing hysterically. She's clearly in pain as she explains something to Merlin,
"I wasn't always like this--" but the words that follow are unheard, swallowed by the sudden sounds of water.
Merlin looks desperate, and the words, "I'm going to make you better, Freya" are heard. Followed by a choked,
"It's too late, the wounds are too deep."
Merlin mutters something else and the scene changes.
A soft echoing of "My home was next to a lake, surrounded by the tallest mountains--" is again abruptly silenced by the sound of water.
Merlin is carrying the girl, now adorned in a dress fit for the king's ward. He lays her down on the shore of a small lake, and she says,
"You remembered..."
Another scene change. The girl is gone, and all that is left is Merlin and a boat burning in the middle of the lake as he watches from the shore.
[ As short as that dream was, it was enough to jostle Merlin from his peaceful slumber. And he quickly sits up, unaware that the dreamberry had been recording everything. He pants softly in an attempt to catch his breath, then clutches his head in an even more desperate attempt to keep from crying.
Once he lifts his head back up he notices the light, quickly fumbling for the dreamberry to turn it off. ]
