Sir,
I am appalled at the absence of movement in the MLE investigation of Mr Potter's murder. The investigation has been so slow it's practically crawling backwards! And it is clearly a Death Eater plot. Why, it stinks of their dark spells and ways! Right in the middle of Diagon Alley and right in the middle of busy Sunday business? Clearly Mr Potter was the target and everyone else was just too bad. We've seen those dirty Death Eaters do this before, after all. What about that explosion by that Sirius Black which took out those Muggles and that Pettigrew fellow back after the First War? Only it was that sneaking Pettigrew who actually did it. Still! It just proves my point the more. Death Eaters have nothing against killing or maiming others when they've got a devilish plan brewing, and here we've got them in the heart of Wizarding London plotting our downfall and no one is doing a thing about it! I'll wager all those unsolved bombings over the summer were part of this plot too. Testing the waters no doubt, and softening us up.
Just you wait, with Mr Potter out of the way they'll be raising a new Dark Lord faster than winking, and then where will we be with just the Ministry to save our hides? On a flying carpet with faulty charms is what!

I couldn't not write after reading that letter by Wanda Plimpton yesterday. I've been thinking about it all day and it just breaks my heart. I think it's terrible how everyone has forgotten the other people caught up in the explosion. In fact, I'm so disgusted that I've started a petition to have the Ministry erect a memorial plaque at the site of the explosion remembering all the people involved. You can get involved too, and the Daily Prophet has kindly agreed to collect letters of support. Simply write to the Daily Prophet as usual, but address the letter to Perch 753.

I can't believe that people are still spouting tripe about Death Eaters. That's old news! These days, we've got to watch out for those Muggle drug runners! Even the Ministry itself says they'd been keeping and eye on that building for ages because of suspicious activity! The Diagon Alley blast was clearly an accident in brewing them, what with all the strange Muggle ingredients and everything. I hear some of the stuff won't stop burning even when you put water on it, and how they do that without a spell is just unnatural!
Don't know why Potter was there or what he was doing, maybe he was tipped off by one of his students about something going on there and he went to have a look. Wouldn't be the first time he stuck his nose into something dangerous, would it?
