I extend my greetings to the good people of this place. I have called myself Amber. I arrived some three weeks ago, thus it seemed high time to make my presence known ( Read more... )

Hello, Amber! I'm Krile. It's nice to meet you--well, write to you.

Sounds like the Sphere has made you a fan of catnaps.

That seems to be the more precise description, but I'm pleased to meet you, Krile.

I can't deny it might be pleasant, but not so convenient when one has things one should be doing.

True, but like Nova says, it never seems to last long. I'm sure you'll be feeling like your norm well, less tired in a few days.

What strange things might one expect to follow? Is there a way to predict them?

Sometimes you'll end up stuck in a strange outfit, or music will come out of nowhere--and every so often monsters will appear. We don't have a way to predict them. At least not yet.

Where do these monsters come from? What are they like?

The zombies that came in the winter seemed to come out of nowhere. But we get an invasion of giant ants in late spring that we can hear coming from the top of the tree.

We've even had fake monsters try to attack people. Apart from the zombies, I'd describe them generally as "large and hungry."

From the top? Not from under the ground? [This would be a ping, that is.]

The dead walking again is no small matter. I should hope this place has a proper contingent of armed guardians. And mock monsters, as well? It certainly makes for a lively sojourn.

Yeah, they climb down through the [pentaps] through the hole in the glass, I suppose.

No, it was a pretty rough week. But we have the Guard, Adventurers, and Watch to help keep people safe when things like that happen.

There is a gap in the glass? I imagine there must be if we are to keep breathing, even if the volume of the sphere is very great.

It is good you have organised to combat such threats.

Sort of. It's a hole near the very top where the Tree pokes through, but it's very dangerous up there. But I hadn't even thought of it in terms of breathing.

Yeah. People here are good at pulling together... it's nice when this place gets hard.

In an enclosed space, one perishes from lack of air sooner or later. But I suppose if we are to be closed in, a high risk attached to approaching the gap in the wall makes sense.

That's heartening to know, my dear.
