Continued from here.

Hermione stood in the doorway to the office, watching as Fred tried to wake up Wesley and left a note to tell him where they were going when she didn't have any luck. It was something she remembered well, often finding Ron or Harry face down in their books after working frantically all night to finish an assignment that they had been given plenty of time to do. Wesley, though, didn't seem like the type to leave his work to the last minute. She was sure that like Fred, he was knackered, especially with everything that had happened.

When Fred finished her note and turned to her to ask if she was ready, she nodded. She found herself wanting to reach out and take Fred's hand as they crossed the lobby to the main entrance but stopped herself. What in Merlin's name was she doing? She had only known this woman for a few hours, and she was finding herself having urges and feelings that she hadn't even had when she had been seeing Viktor. She still felt the ghost of Fred's kiss lingering on her cheek, and when they reached the courtyard, she found herself stopping for a moment to watch the other woman as she walked.

She was probably the most beautiful woman she had ever met, and Hermione was finding herself very attracted to Fred. She just wasn't quite sure what do about it.

When Fred realized she wasn't there, she turned back to look at her, the expression on her face asking if she was coming. Taking a deep breath, Hermione hurried to catch up and, without thinking this time, grabbed Fred's hand, holding onto it tightly as they crossed the street and walked down the pavement to the deli.
