I've started to be really, really against eating processed foods.
High fructose corn syrupHigh fructose corn syrup is in SO MUCH of what we eat/drink. It doesn't trigger satiety responses in your body, so you eat more and more of the food, which is most likely devoid of nutrition. HFCS gets converted to fat right away, rather than getting converted into energy like real sugar. There is no reason CORN should be in your apple juice.
Corn, in general. It's in freaking everything (baby powder, Blu Ray discs, sugar etc.)! It's a huge industry, and food filled with unnecessary corn is cheap because corn is government subsidized. Our entire bodies are made out of water and corn these days. Corn, by itself = good. The processed and genetically altered corn substances in every food we eat = not good. The
King Corn guys found out that 50% of their bodies are MADE UP OF corn.
Chocolate. Almost all of it.Most chocolate we eat comes to us via child slave labor. Free trade chocolate and organic chocolate are OK.
"confectioners glaze, which is used as a coating on Junior Mints candy, is a secretion of the lac beetle."I don't think there's anything political or unsafe about it, but it just sounds gross lol.
Meat. They're really, really cruel to the animals. Not that that's surprising.
White bread has chalk in it.Pure white isn't the natural color of wheat, lol. They bleach it, then add CHALK to make it look more white.
The food industry might be making us obese. They want us to eat more and more, especially crap foods with no nutrition. It makes them money. Also, they gave mice basic lab food or human junk food. The ones eating lab chow were good at self regulating how much to eat, and the ones eating junk food couldn't stop eating and ended up being obese.
Processed/fake sugar is more addictive than cocaineLab rats prefer fake sugar over COCAINE. And the ones who were already addicted to cocaine switched over to processed sugar.
Yes there ARE spider legs in your child slave-made chocolate bar.Up to 60 "insect fragments" are allowed in 100 grams of chocolate, and will still get the FDA's blessing. A few rodent hairs are allowed too. Delicious.
