Wednesday - November 26

Snape rushed into Lupin's quarters in the afternoon hours. He stormed into the room and demanded that Lupin put on a cloak and follow him, they had urgent business to attend to. Lupin's objections about the state of the moon and his condition were brushed aside.

"You've taken your Potion, and I assure you that we will be back here at Hogwarts before the moon rises so that you can be locked up. I'm not going to miss that," Snape said, his lips curling slightly. "I have received intelligence that may lead to our finding the missing Weasley girl. We don't have a moment to lose."

Snape and Lupin set out for the edge of the school grounds, and Snape gave Lupin the location to which they would Apparate. They arrived at a small field, and Snape indicated that they should start walking. He led them across another field, and toward a line of hedges. There was a small house there, just at the edge of the field. It was clearly deserted, in dire need of repairs... They examined it thoroughly, even tried to find a secret room or a trapdoor down to some basement, but no luck.

When they came out of the house again, it was later than they had expected. The sun was very low on the horizon... Just as they were going to leave, there was a bright red light coming from just behind the hedges. Snape whipped out his wand and threw a spell in that direction, but apparently missed, because there came another Stunning Spell, and this one hit Lupin squarely in the chest, sending him down on his back.

Snape stepped up to Lupin to see how he was, and when he saw that he was indeed Stunned, Snape smirked slightly and sent strong cords from his wand to tie Lupin up securely. Then he sent a small flare up and that was the end of the attack on them.

In a pocket, hidden in his robes, Snape had a small vial that he now took out. It contained a very strong sedative (a Potion similar to the Draught of the Sleeping Death) that he thought would be quite sufficient for knocking out even a werewolf for several hours. He bent down and pried Lupin's mouth open, and poured a liberal dose down the man's throat. After that, Snape sat down to wait.
